Warranty work with no Infiniti Dealer

Hey all, first post here. Just want to say these forums are incredibly informative and invaluable for my obsessive-compulsive car research!

I'm not new to forums and have attempted to search for an answer on my own, but so far haven't come up with a specific answer (I apologize if it's out there and I missed it...I don't like cluttered forums either!)

Anyway, I'm interested in buying a G37x. I think it's a great car inside and out, my only reservation is regarding the warranty work. I am about 260 miles from the nearest Infiniti dealer, so if something were to go wrong under warranty, are there any options for me besides flat-bedding (due to AWD) it to the dealer? I saw a post that said a Nissan dealer (there's one 2 miles away) will do the warranty work if you're further than 100 miles from an Infiniti dealer, but have also read that they will not do any work outside of maintenance/service. If they won't, is there usually any sort of towing reimbursement under warranty?

I wouldn't think Infiniti would want to potentially discourage a huge amount of people from buying their vehicles due to inconvenient dealer locations...but then again...

I'll be calling the Nissan dealer of course, but I'm curious of other people's experiences. I'd be hesitant to buy a CPO if would mean the headache and cost of a long distance tow any time something serious were to come up.

Thanks!

-Bryan

Nope. Infiniti dealerships perform Infiniti warranty work, Nissan dealerships perform Nissan warranty work. One cannot do the other under warranty. They can perform the work without any issue, but not covered by the warranty of the other entity.

Talked with Infiniti consumer affairs and can confirm that Black Betty is correct: NO warranty work is ever done at Nissan dealerships, under any circumstances.

I did read in the CPO warranty terms that towing assistance is offered for up to 250 miles to an Infiniti dealership. So I guess that's my only bet.

Thanks for the replies.

Will they tow it back to you when it's fixed?
