why is it so hard to sell these cars ?
I would have to agree, I just bought a 2013 g37 that was a part of a rental car fleet, I knew that all the maintenance was done and ppl probably drove the crap out of them but everything was stock. I have seen too many people on youtube doing dumb things in moded cars to ever consider buying one. I think you just have to cut it as a loss or part it out.

I just bought one. I paid $22,900 for same miles and same year. They were asking more than nada and kbb because of supply and demand. There are none like it on the market. Bought from the infiniti dealer for peace of mind.
Evo and S4 are rare cars so demand a premium, Gs are not .
buying from a private seller is risky bc the seller takes no risk when selling a compromised vehicle. A dealer has to consider their reputation so has some incentive to leave a buyer happy.
For a modded vehicle the risk is magnified to the buyer as they assume the car spent is life at redline.
You must factor in the mods in relation to vehicle price. You get a better return on $3000 wheels when they are on a $70000 car than a 20 k one. If your car is worth 18k and your mods cost you 6k, a set of bumpers and wheels cost 1/3 as much as your entire car?
People buying a car for under $20k are worried about practicality, and don't see that kind of value in your mods.

Like everyone said, no one will pay you for your parts. The reliability is now suspect as well. I'd imagine that a good portion of the potential buyers also think you are selling the car because your "performance parts" are giving you reliability issues.
Also keep in mind, many people use KBB as a starting point or reference to see what they should pay for regardless of whether the prices reflect reality or not. Additionally, these people also want a good deal on the purchase. So expect to receive offers that are $1k - $2k below what is listed in KBB.
I'm currently looking to buy a 2002 Porsche 911 turbo. There are only two being sold in AZ at the moment and both are heavily modified. Both dumbass owners are asking for $10k above KBB so that they can recover their losses from modifications. These owners are patiently waiting for the right buyer of course...someone who wants those modifications in the car and is willing to pay for them. Needless to say, both cars have been listed for over a month now and neither have sold...

i purchased my new car last weekend a new volvo s60 r design,
i brought my car back to 100% stock and it still took me 6 months to sell. of course I live in a different continent.
i suggest you bring it back to stock and then sell for cheaper price.
it will be easier to sell aftermarket parts here

where are you located that you're selling the car? Unfortunately trade in values vary depending what they're doing at the auction and also how fast they are selling preowned. Not many people know the bang for the buck we get in the G37's over other cars. The market has been flooded with G37 coupes at this point. 6mt's sell real fast due to the rarity
My thoughts behind this align with most other users on this post. I think selling the car with the mods on it attracts a different type of crowd. One that is actually hoping to get the car way below value and doesn't take much value in the car overall. I wouldn't even buy a car with just aftermarket rims. I prefer 100% stock. I questioned my G because it has K&N Filters, lol. I agree that if you put the car back to stock you will attract "Real, no-bs" buyers and will be able to unload it at a much better price.

I have a 6mt and I have been approached twice by people wanting to know if I want to sell my car. No doubt, it wouldn't be difficult to sell, but this car is a dream on long trips, a lot of fun on winding roads, not to mention merging onto the freeway.
Like others have said, there isn't a strong market, at least for modded cars. I know when I'm looking at cars, I stay away from modded ones. For me, it signals that, even if it's not true, the car might have been driven hard.
Around here, in Southern California, my 2010 coupe with only 45k miles, fully loaded would sell for $24-25k. If you're trying to get $22-23k for an 08 with high miles and mods, you're going to be disappointed.
