why is it so hard to sell these cars ?

been trying to selling my g37 for a month now with no luck , lowered the price 4 times already nothing but lowballers offer half of what i am asking !!

i have a 2008 g37s fully loaded sport and tech package with relativly low miles for the year, with upgraded ipl bumper and skirts, projekt wheels "3,000.00" upgrade rotors stoptec, exhaust, intake, etc etc, im atleast wanting to get half of what i put into parts,

the kbb has it at $21,000 private value and 19,500.00 trade in, im getting offers for 17k as is !! and if tell them i will sell it to them with out all the parts for kbb they laugh at me !

for the record my last car a 2008 mitsubishi evo x i sold in 2 days !! for almost what i paid for it new, with a few mods on it.

i have the car down the $22,300 only $1,300 over kbb on private sale with 6k worth of parts on it, the ipl bumper and skirts alone are 1,400.00 it was originaly listed for 23,900.00 a month ago.

maybe its in a flooded market ?

might have to strip it all the way out even the factory bbks and dump it to car max for 18-19k and get my money back by selling all the parts wich is a pita.

Well bro I sell cars for a living and I can tell you never trust the books. They dont buy cars and they dont sell them. Those parts you have add no real value no matter how much you paid to anyone but to the person that wants those. The books that every one swears by do not recognize aftermarket parts. Also, keep in mind alot of 07s/08s are going for well under $20k with decent miles and equipment, and this is coming from a guy that sells at a retail side where "we are always trying to screw everyone that walks in the door".

Food for thought.

I bought mine last yr. for 17k. It's an 08 g37s that had 55k miles fully loaded. It's still the lowest I could find in the Chicago area. Most I see are in the low 20s.

If it sat on my lot, and it was a 6mt, 19-20. If it was Auto, 19.5-20.5. But I am in Nebraska where it snows. The farther north the less it brings. Just the trent I see.

I have an AWD 09 Coupe with 30k for $22,500 and havent cracked the door yet and KBB is at $23,900.....and its Certifed

you are better off doing a part out and trade for stock parts then selling the car... might make your quota...

I love modding cars, but I would never buy someone else's project. I always turn my cars back to stock before selling them because I figure other people feel the same way. I like my cars unmolested lol

You'll never see a return on the mods. It's "personalized" once you start modding. Even a private buyer will take advantage of that fact. The only time you would probably get what you put into (or come close) is if you have turbos or supercharged. That's just my opinion.

i completly under stand that, im trying to atleast get half of what i put into in mods,

all the mods are basic ones,

even if i get 3k out of the rims, exhaust, bumpers, etc etc and go off the 19.5 k stock price puts me at 22k selling price,

Ill tell you now I mod my cars like.crazy, but would never buy a modded one. Your ipl stuff could stay as it will probably help swing a buyer between your car and another, but besides that you should sell everything.

Youll get more for the actual car completely stock.

Asking price is too high. No value for mods, take them off sell separately and and sell the car stock. Ask less. Take a loss, it's a used car. What other cars sell for doesn't factor in.

It's not hard to sell these cars. It's hard for you to sell your car. The fact is that most people looking to buy a car do not care at all about mods. To the average buyer the only thing that does is put up a red flag that someone has been tinkering around with stuff and the potential buyer does not want that. They don't know what you may have screwed up only to find out 6 months after buying the car. It's too risky. As mentioned by others, I'd never buy someone else's project.

Even if you found someone that didn't mind you tinkering and adding mods to the car, they're not going to add any value to the car. Especially rims. You've basically modded the car out of an easy sale and are asking too much for mods that don't add any value to the car in the buyers mind. Contrary to what a lot of people believe, the market/buyer sets the price, not the seller or some book. So, to the average buyer (the vast majority of people you're trying to sell to) you're asking too much for a car that is a risk because it's beed "tinkered" with by god knows who.

You need to get the car back to stock and ask a reasonable price. You'll sell it quickly. Then take your add-ons and sell them stand-alone to get some of your money back on those.

As others have stated- returning to stock will be a huge plus and might help your chances of selling the car. Personally, I would never want to purchase a car that has been modified in any way. Most people want something reliable and as close to factory as possible. Non-OEM parts spell out less than factory reliability in some cases...

Plus, selling a car isn't always easy. Be patient, but definitely go back to stock and your luck should improve.
