Lease Trade-In: Inspection

Lease Trade-In: Inspection
Hey everyone,
My three years is up on my 2011 g37x lease :-(.
About two months ago, I backed into a pole leaving my rear quarter panel dented and bumper to be replaced. I decided to pay out of pocket. My car is to go into the shop next week. However, my lease turn in is July 01.
Is there a requirement for when I need to have the inspection done? I wanted to have my panel fixed before having them look at it.
Thanks for your advice!

You technically don't even have to have the car inspected before you drop it off at the dealer, but I highly recommend it. Usually the inspection can be scheduled within a few days notice so you should be fine.

Great. Thanks. So it's smart to have my rear quarter panel and bumper fixed before the inspection? It's a $1700 repair :-(.

I think so, Infiniti has been going a little crazy with excessive wear charges lately so I would not leave it in their hands. On the other hand, you can get it inspected before hand and compare the cost before you decide who to let fix it.

Definitely have it inspected before you drop it off. They can send you a letter after stating you owe this in damages. I've seen this done at Infiniti and several other manufacturers.

If you lease another Infiniti at the end of your lease you will get a $500 damage and over mileage waiver and you can usually call corporate and haggle your charges if you have any.

One of the few things Honda/Acura leases had over Infiniti leases when I looked over them about 4 years ago... they have a $1500 damage waiver (one of the best around)at the end of term, but the sticking point is that's total and one issue can only be waived up to $500. Another sticking point, that waiver cannot be applied to mileage overages.
