Infiniti & Pathetic MSRP Manuver
This will be the last Infiniti I purchase. They completely sucked away resale value if you recently purchased a G & all they have to offer is $750-$1,500 off next Infiniti purchase. I don't like doing business with companies like this. I'm going to warn as many people as humanly possible to Stay Away! Why the f*$# would you redesign a car then decide that your going to keep selling the old body style. That sounds like something Mitsubishi would do.
Totally agree! I have a fully loaded 2011 G37xs sedan. The car is spotless... MSRP was $45K. I had an Infiniti dealer yesterday quote me $22k for a trade! The car is spotless!!! Really thinking twice if i will give nissan any more of my money. I have had 4 Infinitis and my wife has a qx56. It might be time to spend a bit more on the germans but at least the bottom wont fall out on the resale value!

They only has a total of 2-3 cars & a SUV.
Even they give a 2k cash back plus 0% apr for up to 72 months.
Sounds to me you don't know how to negotiate, that's on you not the dealership.
If you don't like the deal, simple just walk away.
Why wouldn't they sell all the g's left in production, not like they are going to sell them to rental car companies. they sell pretty good plus when there is a demand for a product it sells.
Plus ill bet a lot of people aren't with the 50k pricetag of the q50.
Or just can't afford a q50, I'd take a g37 any day.
Coupe or sedan.
Resale on all cars you take a beating especially the first couple of years. You must either renegotiate the deal, walk away, or work with another dealership. I just bought a 2010 g37x couple 3 months ago. I had a 2011 regal turbo loaded that i owed $18500 on after a sticker price of $31. 2 dealerships told me $16k was the most they could give me. I found a hungrier dealership that gave me $18500 on my trade in and got a great deal on my G without making the trade in price on the new sale. Keep looking around nut be realistic on what the trade in value is given the saturation of G's in the market and the new body style
The grass can be greener on the other side. BMW has a customer loyalty program that's best in the industry. Audi has tried to match them for years... The lease and finance offers for existing customers is amazing. Like financing at 0%, 5,000 off sticker and free loaners until is vehicle is made and delivered.
They also offer customers a BMW credit card with extremely low interest rates and rewards. It's actually in-line with my discover and amex cards.

Why would you want to trade in your spotless 2011 now? It's essentially a brand new car (nothing has really changed between 2011 and now) From a supply and demand perspective, this is a terrible time to be unloading a late model G37 with low miles as the dealers are being incentivized to essentially blow out brand new ones for a song. They simply do not need late model trade-ins, so that market condition is reflected in their offer. However, there is still a strong demand for G37s outside of the dealer trade-in market and I would guess you could get at least 28K-30K selling your car outright on Autotrader.

9th post, eh? Usually people get hundreds or thousands of posts deep before they start tweeting random rants.
That's why consumers in general need to be really careful making decisions based entirely upon what they read online. It has been proven time and time again that a majority of the people that post reviews online are upset/dissatisfied. Coming from G35Driver.com and that close knit community, it seems that this forum tends to attract more users that defected to other brands and return here to validate their decision, or ones that have an issue and believe that venting in a public forum will resolve the issue faster - in this way, it's starting to feel like Edmunds.com.
It's also growing old reading all the Q bashing threads. The Q is new, it's different and Infiniti's marketing approach questionable, if you don't like it, don't buy one.
Nonetheless, I remain loyal and will sort through the dozens of daily vendor posts to find some encouraging threads and know that in time the quality of posts will increase.

With likely exception to exotics and classics, I firmly believe the quality and value of automotive forum posts is a bell curve in direct relationship to the age of the model.
If the extent of "X" were 10 years since the model was introduced... you get the point.

Makes sense...
1. Years 1-3, new model is released and because it is different from old model, people remain disappointed and remain skeptical that their beloved model was replaced.
2. Years 4-7, mid cycle. Refreshes and upgrades. Analysts love it because it's new, yet mature. The new model now has a strong following.
3. Years 8-10, end of cycle. Yesterday's news. Long in the tooth. Everyone is looking forward to the next, more hyped generation. Everyone agrees the model is fine, but that it's dated. Bashing begins.

So true. I watched almost this exact thing happen on G35Driver.com. Not that there's anything wrong with it in that it seems to be a healthy cycle of events, but it's interesting to watch. Almost everyone on that forum now buying the first gen Gs are in their early 20s.

All that aside, Infiniti did hurt their current G customers by slashing $5000 off of msrp. That is not a solid approach to keep loyal customers satisfied. This is not a bash-Infiniti post, rather a long time very loyal Infiniti customer (4th car and counting) stating some honest personal opinions
