Does this car have XM or not
I'm working on buying a 6mt sedan long distance. I will have the car inspected this week but have a question they probably won't address. The listing for the car includes XM in the options but it does not have Navigation. Can it still have factory satellite radio?
The controls look just like these:http://media.caranddriver.com/images...s-1280x782.jpg

Doesnt look like it does. I believe it has to have the XM button for it to have the option. I would ask them if it does and have them send a picture, or go to your nearest dealer and find a car with those same options (usually a loaner car) and try it there.

AM.FM.SAT
If the vehicle has XM Sat radio you should be able to toggle to XM radio and receive channel 0 which will display the radio ID
In the photo below I was highly pissed off when I first picked up by G37S because the XM factory radio does not display stock quotes on CNBC which displays on my $79.00 Sirius Sportster
Got nowhere because although the companies merged they still transmit on different satellites.
Mod money goes into my 401k

Tell them you need the radio ID button so the radio will be active when you pick up the vehicle.
Good luck

I have an auto 2008 G37 Coupe and it does not have navigation but I do have XM and the XM button is not displayed. Obviously it cost to have XM so you probably won't have it off the bat, you have to go to the sirius site (link provided)
Welcome to the world of satellite radio - SiriusXM Radio and buy it and register it to your car.

you have a connection in the trunk that you can add sirius/xm. i don't know where the factory installed receiver unit is in the car, but the connection in the trunk (aux) overrides it. my car came with xm. i had a factory sirius unit that i took out of my g35 when i sold it, and wanted to have sirius in my g37 for howard stern. when i installed the sirius receiver in the trunk, it overrode the xm. i have the sirius unit out of the car and for sale for $100 shipped if you want it.

If inspection turns up anything substantial that I can fix myself I may ask them to pay the subscription as comp. but I really don't expect there to be anything in the inspection. How do you access the satellite channels, via AUX?
