Just another "Good deal or not + advice" thread :)

Hi,
I'm about to purchase a G37 and obviously I'm here for the experts' advices so I really appreciate for anyone's inputs
Anyway I got a quote from my local Infiniti dealer on a 2008 G37 coupe asking for $26K. The car has 53K miles on it and comes with Premium Package, since it has the 6-year/70K miles factory warranty so I have about 1 year left. After negotiation the sale manager told me he could do $22.7K out of the door. Is this decent or I could get a lower price?
I would prefer an 09 model since I think it's around my budget and wondering are there any significant differences between the 2?

why not wait until the Q comes out and see if the price drops even more for the G?

If you're looking at the coupe then chances are the q50 is not going to drop the price much if at all. The redesigned coupe is not coming out for another 2 years most likely. The one major difference between 08 & 09 automatics are the transmission. That's why I'm waiting for a perfect deal on an 09 rather than 08. The 08 has a 5 speed automatic while the 09 has the 7 speed auto. Performance isn't boosted much with this transmission but fuel economy is & resale value would be in the future. '10 has a slightly updated interior & will cost couple K more
But to answer your question, 22.7K OTD is a fair deal. It would be a good deal if it was an 09 & a great deal if it was an 09 wit about 30k miles
Hope this helped

I'm looking to buy one soon so I don't think I have enough patience to wait.

Thanks esesnipey94, that's good to know. I think I'll wait for a 09 model then, the guy at Infiniti dealer told me there's no difference between the 2 but oh well, I wouldn't expect much from these guys anyway.
And I live in SoCal so I guess it costs a bit more? From what I've seen they're asking way too much for a 09 model. And I'd rather purchase one from Infiniti or a well-known dealership than some smaller and shady one.

Don't forget about this forum's Gs For Sale section. You can fine some well taken care of G37s there. Where do you live? Perhaps the community can help you in your search?

Thanks cribbsjy, I live in San Diego CA. And since I want to finance the car I would have to go with dealership.

Well, even if you want to finance I dont think you really "have" to go with a dealership.
I believe you can talk to your local credit union and work something out....heck, you might even get a better rate than the dealearship.

I got a flyer a couple of weeks ago from my credit unit offering 1.9% finance new or used.

I already did and unfortunately I'm not qualified since my credit is not good enough, that's why I'll have my family member to co-sign so I can rebuild it.

My local Infiniti just called me and they said they have an 07 G35 6MT with about 39K miles and they're asking for $22.5k. Between a G37 coupe non S and a G35 6MT what do you guys think? What is a good price for this 6MT model in your opinion?

Is the G35 6MT coupe or sedan? It all boils down to what you prefer since the G35 has the previous body style interior/exterior (if coupe).

Sorry I forgot to mention that I'm only looking for a coupe so yes it is. And I consider both models as I don't have any problem with either. I kinda like the G37 better because it's a newer model with more features but if I can get a G35 for a good price then sure why not. Just wondering if it's a good deal and what should I expect to pay for such thing?

I going to be optimistic and say that wont happen. The G has developed a solid name and the Q doesn't seem to put up any numbers. Just a aerodynamic redesign isn't going to do it. If it was a new G with 20 extra HP or more than yes... But I don't see the G taking much of a hit. At least for a few more years.

I just found an 09 coupe with no nav, 47K miles. 24K out of the door is good?

Price is always dependent on condition of the vehicle. What may seem like a good deal is not if you need to replace tires, needs a major service, etc.

A base coupe with no nav has a wholesale Kelly Blue Book value of $22,079. I would say that if the condition of the car is consistent with the age and miles then yes you are getting a good deal.

Most car dealerships would offer $20,000 as trade-in, spend $2,000 reconditioning the car and then retail it for around $24k.
