Hi all. I've been researching purchasing a G37 IPL for the better part of a year now. When I finally decided to pull the trigger, I found out that there is virtually no inventory of any IPL within 500 miles of me (2 within that range, neither the model I'm looking for). So, after much negotiation, we decided to factory order the car on a price (~$47,500) for a 2013 IPL 6MT black/graphite with illuminated kick plates and carpeted trunk. Through all of this, the dealership was very cordial. Then, I got the call from the senior sales manager telling me "we put in the order for the car you wanted and then found out that Infiniti stopped making 6MT's with graphite interiors mid-year. They only make it with red interiors now." Needless to say, I was pretty upset. My question is...is he trying to pull th wool over my eyes, by selling me something he already has in inventory because of the price, or is Infiniti really no longer making the IPL 6MT with a graphite interior? All the new ipls I have seen all have the red interiors. I wouldn't be disappointed

 

Do you not like the red interior? Have you seen it in person? The red leather looks amazing! Its only available with the IPL too... More exclusive

 

I've seen pictures. It just looks tacky. Perhaps it's not, but it's also not what I wanted, so I don't think I'd be satisfied. Does anyone know definitively whether they make it? I have a call out to consumer affairs. Just seems pretty suspect considering their website still has the option and all.

 

Try to look at the red interior in person. It's really nice and exclusive. I did a quick re-search and searched at all the Infiniti dealers in TX. I found a dealership with 2 2013 IPL''s that is 6MT and Graphite interior. One with malbec black exterior, the other is graphic shadow. Maybe you can have your dealer ship it over to you, or have the dealer in TX ship the vehicle to you. All the other dealers I looked at (over 10 in TX) were basically all automatic with both red and graphite interiors.

You can try to do the same thing I did and look at every single dealer in your state.

 

the red is pretty loud, but even so, it doesn't look too bad. i'd take the graphite with red stitching myself though...

Yeah.. listen to the above posters. Red in pictures look so bright/flashy but in person it looks way better. Give it a shot

 

When I was looking to purchase mine, I was told that dealerships are awarded a certain allotment of IPLs per year. Once those allotments are fulfilled, additional IPLs cannot be ordered. This supposedly keeps the car in limited supply. I don't know if that is BS or not, but my dealer was unable to place an order for me. They had to track mine down at a dealership 100+ miles away and swap another car to get it for me.

Also, I think the graphite interior looks nicer than the red. The red is more exclusive, but ehhh I dunno... it's too bright. The graphite has the red stitching that matches the steering wheel, which is unique to IPL too. That's enough red for me. And at this point, IPLs with graphite leather are probably rarer than those with red! You shouldn't settle if the graphite is what you really want, but it's your decision. Dealers have an allotment for in stock. Not orders.

Just recently, searching for a GTR, the dealers kept saying they sold their allotment.
A call to Nissan USA confirmed that factory orders were not part of an allotment.
Thus I could go into any dealer and order one.

 

you can still get one with the graphite interior, what they may be doing is picking one that has already ben built and trying to stick you on it. Unless I am completely oblivious I have not heard of any such thing (I order cars for my dealership)

 

Monaco red leather is freakin hot.
