Was this Trade Deal a Good One?

Recently traded my 2009 G37 Sedan (Base Model) with about 25,000 miles on it, to get into a 2012 G37 Sedan (Premium Package). Total Financed to get into the 2012 was $30,934 including all tax, title and licenses.

Price $35,222
Taxes $38,502
Trade Value $21,000
Total Finance $30,934

Would love to hear everyone's opinion if this was a good deal. I feel it was a good deal, obviously would love for it to be lower but really worked the dealerships to my advantage. The reason I wanted the trade up was my 2009 transmission kicked like a donkey and really wanted the premium package. Can't live in Cali without a sunroof. Would love feedback.

Your post is confusing, did you have equity in the car? If you're happy and the deal is done...what does anybody's approval matter? Enjoy!

The numbers aren't adding up. You left something out. $38.5K - $21K = $17.5K, not $31K. What's missing?

yeah I only owed about $13000 on my previous 2009, so about $7000 in equity.

Just wanted to know what others were getting on their 2012 at? Owed about $13000 so after $21000 trade in value about $7000 in equity applied toward the new car.

Talking about the trade value alone, it's not bad at all but I think your new car sales price is a little high. Everyone knows it's a game of numbers when you trade your car in for a new one. What is the KBB trade it for your car?

To compare, I traded in my 2009 G37 Journey Prem + Nav with 60K miles for 20K last month. The KBB trade in excellent condition in my area was 20.5K at that point. My car wasn't perfect, it had some scratches and front bumper was replaced due to a minor fender bender.
