As for the leasing question...

I think there are a lot of factors that go into it, but I really think it is the best choice for me currently.

First, as Beer Magazine points out, the financial really aren't that bad for a car with a high residual and on an awesome deal like this.

Second, I'm in a transition phase of my life. Right now the G37 coupe makes sense for me. I am late 20s and single with no kids. I don't know what the next few years really look like for me. I could be married and have children in five years. I could be living in a place where I don't need a car (my job wants me to move to San Francisco eventually).

Also, I have never had a fun car like this before. I've only had things that were very boring to drive. I think I'm going to find it addicting, but who knows?

It is, but it isn't. There are only so many ***** they can turn and I believe I understand all of them (and have built a leasing calculation spreadsheet to help).

MSRP is 48,385
Selling price is 41658.
MF is .00074
Residual is .56.

That seems great to me. Tell me if I am missing something.

Exactly! So negotiate the *****, not the end result

Great selling price!. W/ that residual is it a 15K/year lease?

MF is higher than their base rate.... If you have really bad credit, probably out of luck,..........if you have at least semi-good credit, then the dealership is ripping you off on the MF

I just picked up the car yesterday and got an even better deal. They added the spoiler and midnight grille package for almost no additional money. I also did MSDs and saved a ton of money!

My deal ended up being:

MSRP: 48, 385
Selling Price: 41,658.
MF: .00004 (thanks to MSDs)

In total...my payment is $446 a month for a 2012 G37 Coupe Journey with Sport, Nav, Premium, Illuminated Kick Plates, Spoiler, Midnight Black Grille, and trunk mat/first aid kit/net.

I'm psyched and am LOVING the car so far.

The dealer was in the south-east, but asked that I don't identify them.

MSDs are multiple security deposits. In essence, you can put down a larger deposit on the lease in order to lower the money factor. If you can afford to do it, it is potentially a great investment.

Not all states allow MSDs. Not sure why.
