What benefit can be had from paying lease payments up front?

My buddy mentioned that some folks -- if they have the cash sitting around -- will take advantage of an option to pay their lease payments up front. Supposedly, they can save a nice little check related to the fact there is no interest in the lease payments.

Is this true? How does this work and how much can be saved?

Your buddy doesn't know what he's talking about. You pay interest every month and tax every month on a lease. There is no "trick" other than you won't have a payment for the time you paid up front.

sounds silly, I turned my Audi in with 5 $500 payments left. Infiniti said no problem we will pay the car off if you want to do a deal today.

I don't think you can save any monies by paying upfront.

just helps not have any payments is all. No other benifit. Biggest benefit you can get for a lease if you have money laying around is doing mulitple security deposits.
