So...I got the car!!!
Some of you may remember my previous thread and I do appreciate the input. Quick recap...dealership advertised car as CPO and then the sales manager told me it was Pre-Certified.
Well, I was pretty much set to walk away and then the sales manager changed his tune. "I will stand to the certification, its water under the bridge, I don't want you to think we are one of those types of dealerships..." Yea, my response was more or less that he's full of ****, but I want the car.
So, to get me into the car they:
1. gave me $2200 for trading in my 94 Mitsu 3000GT (which i planned to private sell for under $1500, so I went for it)
2. they repaired a couple of the wheels with no change to the price (i noticed some minor - moderate curb rash on a couple of the wheels)
3. oh and honored their advertisement of it being CPO (totally awesome of them!!! <-------massive sarcasm)
Had my own financing, but went on and financed through them. I expressed my dissatisfaction at how they handle business. So, the finance guy showed me that they lost money on the deal with me (on the computer screen) and charged me the dealer price (showed it to me in the book) for the "wrap". Don't really care about his evidence, I don't by any means believe that they lost money and of course there was a mistake on my paper work. He listed my extended warranty running until 11/3/2019, but Infiniti informed me that it only runs to 3/31/2016 (In service date).
All in all, I am happy with my purchase and loving the car. Regardless of the shenanigans with them I walked out of the door within my desired price range and the things I wanted in the car. Don't think I'll do business with Fields Infiniti again though. I've already talked to another local dealer with whom I plan to do my service with going forward.

Did you purchase the extended warranty? If so, they didn't lose money on the deal. That's profit right there and a good example of how they can "lose money on the deal" but still make a profit.
I don't know the inner workings of a car salesman, but I love how they always try to make it appear that they are doing you a favor or something. Trust me, they aren't.

God, I loved the 3000GT back in the day!
When I met my wife (in '95) she had a '90 Supra that she had bought new. I've ragged her ever since about buying over the 3000, lol. Thing looked like a Ferrari.... so nasty.
You'll love your upgrade though, enjoy.

Congrats on the car! You are in Chicago correct? Which Feilds did you go to?
Hope to see you at meets in the future... although my car just went into storage this past weekend so I wont be out and about till some time next year when the salt clears. Great to see another Chicago G on this forum though... It is desolate around here!

Well the meets are usually organized by the local forum of Chicago Z which is not as active as JDM Chicago (another local forum) but is much more specific to similar enthusiasts I would say without getting too much into it. So I would check that forum out but as you could imagine... not much of anythign will be going on until weather warms next year.
I would love to say to hang out in the Chicago thread on here but you will most likely here the sound of crickets reading through that thread, we just don't get things organized much for some reason on here...

Chicago Z eh...I'm fully aware of them, I didn't realize that the Infiniti G's rolled with them. I haven't been out to many meets this year. I prefer to roll and not parking lot pimp; so I spent most of my summer on my bike. I did go to one of the "Friday Night Lights" meet early in the season, out in Addison. Like you said though...the season is over, so I'll see you in the streets next year.

If you don't mind driving downtown, Berman's Infiniti on 640 N Lasalle (right by rock n roll mcdonalds) was great. Their sales guy Matt put up with my dumb *** for nine months before I bought it and answered all my questions.
