No car dealer in the history of the world has lost money on a sale. Don't believe what they show you. It's just to make you feel good about your purchase so that you consider them again next time you're looking for a vehicle. It's a common practice.

If you had your own financing, I'd have gone with that. Dealer financing has a ton of fees, and you are extremely unlikely to have a local branch of whatever bank is doing the financing. There's alot to be said for having a good relationship with your banker.

Congrats on the new purchase. You'll love it.

Please explain how dealership has fees on financing? With a CPO car he gets financed through IFS at 2.9% (based on credit of course) and there have been many times I have actually lost money on a sale just to make a sale, in the end you have quotas to meet. I am not saying this happened here as I do not trust the people he worked with right from the start, but there are some of us who are actually honest and are out to make the customer happy. I would love to make a customer happy and still make 4 grand haha but it doesn't happen and I do not expect it to. If at any point though a salesperson or finance guy or whatever "show" you on their screen how much they are losing ask to see the back-screen, that way you can judge how honest they are. Congrats on your purchase! Glad they came around on their CPO.

Once I upgrade my '04, there will be one more Chitown addition. Assuming I talk myself into it.

I had two financing options that i came in with. The first was through Capital One and the other was through Chase. The bank that they financed through was actually the same bank that I have my mortgage with (Wells Fargo). When I found that out, I chose to go on and finance through them because I've had a great experience with them, thus far.
