G37X Lease Advice

Hello all,

This is my first post here, and I'm looking into my first lease and my first G.
I see some crazy prices out there and I keep wondering if I'm getting ripped off.

I'm looking at a 39 month lease of a 2011 G37X, no options, sign and drive (minimal out of pocket ($600).
The monthly quote I've gotten my dealer down to is $440 (12 K miles).

I think this is a pretty good deal, but I seem to see deals out there for similar cars for ~$400 (or less), and I don't know if they're valid or not.

I'm also looking at a 2011 328XI, but BMW won't budge below $550, so the $440 noted above appeals to me.

I don't have specific figures for you (residual, etc), but hopefully someone can confirm that this is a fair price. I live on Long Island, not sure if we're more or less $$ here.

Thanks for any advice.

BTW: what are my chances for putting a bike rack on this?
I don't want to mount on the roof, either trunk or hitch, and I hear the hitch requires notching of the bumper a bit (I assume Infiniti won't like that on turn-in?).

$440 for a no-optioned G37 is RIDICULOUS.........definitely do not do it. You can get a moderately optioned car for cheaper than that.

Im assuming the 328 is no-optioned? $550 is def a no-no......for $550 it should be fully loaded.

sorry buddy, you need to keep searching

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback.

The 328XI is with sport package only for 27 months, which is a little cheaper than 36 months.

I called the BMW dealer, and told the manager that I'd like to cut to the chase and get this for ~$500 per month; naturally, they act as if they'll get that for you, they call you back, tell you you're all set, then reveal that they got your $557 down to $550.

This really gets frustrating, I think thay'd be better off just giving me what I'm asking for so I bite. Otherwise, the more I research, the lower I'm going to ask them to go.

Dealers must hate the internet...

I have to ask, things like residual and MF: are these priviledged bits of info, or intended for the public (can I ask them for the figures?).

Infiniti.com Current Offers

This price is before tax, so add another ~$40 per month. This is also RWD vs AWD, 10k vs your 12 k miles and it requires 2600 out of pocket.

Pricing has gone up a lot the last coupe of months, so it may not be that bad of a deal. Call another dealer and see what they have to say. I did my deal completely over the internet and phone. It takes longer, but you end up with a better deal.

Regarding the current offers referred to just above, my dealer ran an ad for a g37x coupe, 10k, ~$1600 out of pocket. I went in on a friday after it had expired, they told me that that they had none available.
After I walked away, I got an email on Sunday telling me that 2 came in that day. Apparently, there are car carriers full of $40k infiniti's just driving around, and no one at Infiniti is aware of this!
I saw this as 'bait and switch', but also decided that the limited time offer of $369 was a good one. Adding $20 for 12 k miles $30 for taxes brings me pretty close to the offer I noted in the beginning of this thread.

Am I wrong? How little can one possibly spend on a g37?
The similarly priced BMW is leasing for a lot more, and I'd expect a $23k civic Si to lease for over $250. ( my current car is a 2000 Si, and the frugal part of me is telling me to wait for the 2012).

People don't know what they are talking about. Get the details of the lease and we can see if it's a good deal.

You are more than permitted to ask details such as rates, MF, %....its not secret information. However these are rates given to the dealer by IFS and arent really negotiable.

as far as the BMW is concerned, $550, even $500 is TOO much for a coupe with only sports package.....especially the fact its a 328. 500's is 335 territory.

as for the G coupe....$400 for a bare car seems about close, granted you might be able to squeeze a little more. ive seen people get cars with premium and nav, for slightly more a month (with a little more out of pocket)

the other factor you need to consider is your credit score. it effects the lease rate.

Thanks all for your help.
I wasn't sure I could get to this today (if I lose my job, I ain't leasing anything).

The dealer called me, and told me:

64% residual, .0015 MF, 41020 MSRP, 37500 selling price (is this Cap Cost?). I assume that's all you need? (39 months, 12 K miles, stripped G37X coupe (maybe rear spoiler).

He says he's at invoice, although I understand that their actual cost is lower than invoice, plus they get $$ from Infiniti when they sell a car?

Thanks again, I might call BMW now for same info...

So I come up with $417 , which sounds like I'm pretty close.

Meanwhile, BMW seem to be asking me to come in in order to get this info, but they swear that there's nowhere to go.

Thanks again for all your help.

For 2011 G37XS Sedan (Prem, Nav, Sport) I was offered:

$417 is the best offer I got, but for me that was at 39Months @ $2500 Due at Signing @ 15k Miles/Year Leased---though the SAME car offered to me for a Coupe instead of Sedan was $439 with all the above options and terms the same

AT $417/Month @ 12K Miles @ $600 Down, you seem to be near a good deal, I would really push for closer to $400/Month

Also, makes sure to check out Edmunds.com (2011 Infiniti G Coupe Dealer Price Quotes - Edmunds.com)

I would shoot for about $1000K under Invoice when negotiating!

Good luck!
