2011 G37 Journey Pricing in CA

Hi! I'm new to the forum, and a recent convert from the Lexus IS - looking to purchase my first Infiniti G37.

After looking through everyone's posts, and the "rock bottom" prices I've received through internet/fleet managers, I still think the quotes I've received are a lot higher than what people have posted on this forum!!

But - please give me your thoughts on my current/best offer in Southern California (tax rate of 9.75%)
- 2011 G37 Journey
- Blue Slate/Stone
- Premium Package

MSRP was $38,425 and they are offering it to me for $33,699 (Edmund's Invoice/TMV is $36,282). Mainly for $37,500 OTD. I've seen people with more options get it for

I've tried to use $37,500 as a negotiation starting point for all the other dealers within 50miles, but every agent has said "there's no way you can get it for that price." If so, is the dealer who gave me the offer lying? Or are the other dealers just playing hard?

Thanks for all your help!

5K off is really good. I don't think you can get much more off.

I dunno... I think $33,700 for the car you describe is a good deal. I bought the 2011 Limited Edition Sedan for $39,300. So I think $5,600 less for a Journey with no sport or nav is fair.

BTW - I'm pretty sure our tax rate is 8.75%, at least that's what I was charged when I got mine the day after Christmas.

The tax rate depends on the county where you live, I think. I got mine on Dec 30 last year at roughly $5500 off MSRP, $2300 below invoice in Northern California. Given the price hike and the earthquake situation, I think the price you're being offered is very low, assuming the dealership has no other way to make money off you (such as trade-in, finance and/or lease) . If you are considering trading in, getting a loan or a lease from the dealership, then you have to consider those other parts of the package. They may be offering you a low price on the car purchase price but also very low trade-in value and/or high finance/lease rate.
