I'm buying a 2011 G37 coupe with premium and sports package pretty soon and was wondering if dealerships give inexpensive accessories if you ask for them.

For example, if I say "I'll only take the car if you throw in free All-season floor mats, carpeted trunk mat, and emergency road kit."

Do you think they would give those to me if I told them I'd take my money elsewhere?

Well on zagg and carsdirect the price is under $40,000. Is it an insult to them if I try to take too much?

It all depends. I hope you won't ask using the same tone you used in your post. Some cars come with the First Aid kit and trunk mat already installed. The all-season mats are about $60. Are you going to blow a great deal over $60?

You can try asking nicely, but I think the dealer will just figure if you are saying you want the car only with those things, then you *want* the car. There is a better chance (in their eyes) that you take the car regardless of what they give you for free.

And, they'll sell it to someone else if they have to.

I don't think there is a concept of free. Nothing is free...even though they say it as FREE, cost of those accessories are covered somewhere in the price.

Just look for the exact car you want and try your best to get a good deal on it.

"Hey Im already spending upwards of 40k on a Car, but only if you give me 60 bucks worth of free stuff." They will fall for that for sure.

I didn't get my free stuff until I brought it back the day after I got it to fix the scratch in the bumper (which was pointed out to me when I got it) I picked it up the second day and they had slung rubbing compound all through my trunk and the salesman saw my gap jaw expression and walked up with 4 free oil changes, and the All Season Mats. They took the car back and cleaned it up for me too. It didn't have 30 miles on it at that time.

I got the trunk floor mat, first aid kit and wheel locks for free.

and then 2 weeks later they sent me a Tiffanys pen

from what I recall, the trunk floor mat and first aid kit have a $0 invoice price...which means its pure profit when they add it to your sticker price. I also recall dealerships always including those for free but Infiniti recently made them start charging

Just got a 2011 G37 S 6MT coupe last week $1000 below invoice with no option, when i sat down with the finance manager, I asked him: what about a complimentary on the black grill? He was smiling and said: not on this deal... But I didn't pay the $75 doc. fees, I told him I'm gonna walk out if he don't waive that $75 and it work

FYI -- That doc fee is illegal to charge...that's why the waive it so quickly when it's mentioned.
