a really regretful decision.
so ive leased my g coupe about 4 months ago, and this is my first car, but at that time, there wasnt any g coupes in manual that was available near or in the state of california, ive literally visited about 5 dealers and they all said that they couldnt get that car for about 4 monthes... and now that ive seen the 2011 g coupes in person, im really regretting my desicion on just jumping on the 2010 g coupe automatic... and so i called the dealership again and asked about the 2011 manual, and they said that all they can do was buy my lease out from me and go through all the registration and stuff again, and that i had to pay for another down payment, which im actually down to do, but the amount i have to pay is rediculous.. in the beggining i down paid 5000 and i was willing to down pay the same amount, but they said after inspecting my car and the money that i owe to infiniti, i was looking at aroung 11000 dollars for a new g coupe manual... i was wondering if anyone on this forum actually went from a 2010 lease to a 2011 lease? and if you guys dont mind sharing, how much you paid to get the new 2011? thanks
Hey if ur lease price is good, you can try to get someone to take over your lease on swapalease.com. Just try to get a little bit of $$ from them like 1200 or so. You will take a loss but will be getting the car you want for far less than 11k due at signing.
Test drive a 6MT before you go and put it on a pedestal.
I love mine, but it takes a lot of getting used to. The clutch, notchiness of the transmission, extra noise of the transmission and clutch, etc.
It's definitely a different experience than the automatics. Some people prefer the automatic after driving both.

I would wait it out as well... with that kinda down payment thats crazy... if you have 5 g's to down... take that money and drop that into your G now and supercharge that bad boy... oh wait your leasing... my bad... but thats what I would do, but not on a lease though...
count me in for hating my 5AT trans... but im sure when I get around to S/C my car, I wouldnt be hating it anymore... next G will be 6MT for sure... fo sho ! shoots !

If you have gap insurance just run it into a wall and total it, Infiniti will have to let you out of the lease then, after that just go back to that dealership and get your 2011 6MT.
I'd avoid 'swapalease' if you have an IFS lease, I heard they don't release you from financial responsibility even with the swap, if the 3rd party stops paying, you're still liable.

thanks guys for all your response, but yea mines a 2010 g coupe journey with nav, premium, and everything, except for the kickplates, and the rear spoiler! i down paid 5 g's for a 39 month lease, and i pay 405 a month thats including tax! if i find a deal for 5 g's down and even if its 500 a month, ill jump on that deal anyday... but if its more then 500 then im just gonna wait it out i guess..:/

Put it up for sale or just ride it out.
Personally, I think you put down too much upfront, but that did make your payments low so it isn't too bad.
I kind of went through a similar situation when I opted to get the 2008 base coupe and about 2 weeks later, I realized that a sport manual would have cost me only a little bit more. regrets indeed. but look at the bright side. It's just a lease. 3 yrs from now, you get to get another car.

$5gs is alot to put down on a lease....but never the less....you're stuck with it
you have 2 options.....find someone to take over......or have the dealership buy it back...but you'll end up putting out a lot from your pocket between the 2 cars......its not worth it
