New 2010 G37 coupe invoice?

Hey guys - I'm trying to bite the bullet on a new 2010 G37 coupe premium/sport/nav with an MSRP of $45,500. According to truecar.com, the invoice is $41,652. I am being offered $1k below that. They said that is their actual cost (except for the holdback). I questioned him about truecar saying the dealer cost is $39,760 and he said that $40,652 is their cost after $1k dealer cash incentives.

I thought "Invoice" wasn't truly what the dealer pays? He says this is making 0 money for them.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks!
Stephen

I suggest that you check out this site.

CarBuyingTips.com new car buying guide, avoiding dealer scams, new cars, used car buying

this site explains everything you need to know about how to buy a car.

I actually used truecar and worked out great. Try to offer lower range of the graph (below invoice). Dealers can still make money selling car at below invoice.
