anyone buy their car after a lease?
what are your experiences?
my g37 base coupe 2010 has a buyout of ~$24,000. In 3 years I don't think there will be anything better out there for $24,000 with low mileage and taken care of by me, so maybe I should purchase it. What are your experiences with purchasing a lease, what are the pros and cons of doing it.
Thanks.

as far as i know....you pay the fee, price of the car.......and possibly tax
ask Kenny (da mayor).....he will give you the exact details.
right now its too early for you to make a decision of whether to buy or not....you have 3 years and you might end up wanting something else. you're payments are REALLY cheap...so im assuming the car has no options? maybe after 3 years you're going to want to change that up.

cap cost on my car was $33,500 + fees
residual is $24,000
depreciation is $9,500
rent fees are like $3500 + tax every month or something along those lines.
monthly is $361 with tax. that's a pretty good payment, with ZERO down so my residual will be higher. only paid title, dealer fees, bank fees and first month payment.
anyway a buyout is generally a couple grand LESS than private party and certainly less than retail.
a 2008 base coupe in 2011 will have a KBB worth at least $28k with 25-30k miles retail. to buy it for $24k and know I was the only person to put miles on it seems worth it.
maybe i should have bought the car in the first place but if i get in a wreck or the car gets damaged or something, i can just walk away.
but i'm thinking if the G25 becomes the new G37 and the price of the G37 skyrockets over the next 3 years due to less availability, increased production, etc and infiniti trying to make the g25 the new standard (like the IS250) will make a new g37 too much $$$ to buy in 2013.

2008 Infiniti G - Suggested Retail Value - Kelley Blue Book
that's for a 2 yr with 20k miles.
so in another year drop that price around 3 grand.
my prediction is
24k trade in
26k private
28k retail.
my cost: $36-37k if I buyout with cash and about 40k if I refinance the 24k during buyout.
to buy the car for $33,500 and finance over 5 years + tax, tag, title fees equals about $38-$39k
to buy with any options like prem, tech pck and navi would cost me over $45.
personally i have ZERO use for navi. don't care for the tech package either. wanted the sports pck but it was only available in 6mt. If i really want bigger wheels i can get some in the future along with a sports front fascia. I don't have a moonroof and that sux but i can live with that.

here is a base g37s with a 40k msrp.
Used 2008 Infiniti G37 Sport 6 MT For Sale | Miami, Fort Lauderdale, FL M8M112114P
dealer won't go lower on this car they emailed me saying they reduced it $2 grand recently.
a "fully loaded" one will easily sell for $33-35 grand.
of course the g37S has a worse residual then the base coupe due to the higher price point and lack of automatic.
fact is red is also not a very popular color. I'll bet if it were blue slate or grey it would cost another 2 grand.
so kbb is pretty spot on (+/- 5%)

after im done with my lease, the car will have 67k miles on it..(20K miles/ year for 39 months, yes I drive that much). The whole body creaks just after hitting 30k miles, I cant imagine what will happen after 50k miles. Other then that the powertrain is amazing, the finish on the car not so much

Go on cars.com, theres almost 800 cars listed under 30k. Most of them in the 25k range.
Whether you want to believe it or not, its a commonly known fact that KBB values are inflated. Always have been.

all LOW MILEAGE NON ACCIDENT cars start at 30k.. not bad for a car with a cap cost of $33,500 after almost 3 years.

obviously having a g37s or base g37 keep about the same value after 3 years. the g37S only has a $4k more msrp then the base model in the first place.
like i said unless my car gets wrecked post lease, buyout for $24k will be about 5 grand LESS than buying it back from a dealer.

My lease is up next month, I have a fully loaded 08 sport in blue slate. I only have 18k miles on it. I can buy it for 27 grand. I am gonna keep it, b/c of the low mileage and it is still mint b/c I have owned it.
