'10 g37x coupe + packages.. good price?

hey guys,
so i have my mind set on a 2010 g37x coupe with the premium and navigation package. wanted the black grille too but none in my area have them stock and they said it would take a while to order it :/ need to buy the car fairly quickly so i dont have much time to wait to get a car built. color wise i am going OB with the black interior.
specials that dealership #1 told me about was 1k cash back as well as 0% financing for some amount of months. was very interested in the 1k cash back though as i thought id be making a nice deal.
after pricing it up and the salesman giving us a 2.5k preferred customer discount and the 1k cash back, it came out to around 41.5k.
edmunds was telling me that people are paying around 41.6k for the car. i said that the price did not sit well with me and that i wanted a couple thousand off. the dealer said i only have $700 to work with so you should look at another car or the one without the navigation package. he started packing up. finding it incredibly rude i got up and left, he offered me his card but i told him i was set on my price and didnt accept it.
now, am i wrong in wanting more off of what he is asking? if others are paying 41.6k for it, why shouldnt i get it AT LEAST at 40.6k because of the cash back? i want to spend between 40k and 40.5k on the car and i would be happy.
any tips or suggestions? what can i do to maybe get a better deal? checking out two more dealerships in the area tonight so any quick advice would be helpful. i am still shocked as to how disgusted he looked when i told him i wanted a couple thousand off and he just packed up, pretty much telling me i was in the wrong place.
im not trying to make the best deal and wait weeks between dealerships fighting amongst each others' lowest price, all i want is to get a respectable deal. am i asking for too low a price? i would think if others are paying 41.6k i should be paying at most 40.6k after the cash back.. seemed like the salesman wanted to give me the price others are paying but keep the cashback for himself. i dunno..

what was the deal at the second dealer? When you pick it up you should drive over to the other dealer and show off your new ride

Good for you OP!

Same thing happened to me at the 1st dealer I went to. The price they give me was like 4K more than what I'd researched via Edmunds. Then he said he'd give 2K off. I said no because I did my research, so he and I went to the website, and configured the same options, it came out about the price with 2K off that he offered BUT he refused to click on the "Incentives available" link which would say clearly 2K marketing support from Infinity. He said "What others are paying" is exactly what others are paying

He then told me that he was "offended" because of my offer, blah blah... I said that's enough and left. I got the deal I wanted the next day at the different dealer.
