Lease Add-Ons

I'm turning in my G35X tomorrow and picking up a Black/Black G37 Convertible with Premium and Nav. Needless to say, the warm weather can't get here soon enough.

The dealer has offered me the following add-ons to my lease:

- Tint for $386.
- Road and tire hazard covering damage to the wheels and tires for the lifetime of the lease, unlimited use $0 deductible $469.
- The dealer includes one year service (oil changes and tire rotation only) free of charge. I can upgrade this to cover the whole lease, (39 months) for $399.

What do you folks think about these? I've never tinted so I'm not sure if the price is fair. I do think that that the only way tint is legal in NY is if it comes pre-installed on a new car. Regarding the tire coverage, it does not cover normal wear so it's more of a gamble.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The tint should be less than $200 using a quality film and a good installer... (I remember paying $160-$180)

Road hazard sounds pretty reasonable, although Costco for example includes it for free if you purchase tires from them, granted it only applies once you've changed your tires, meaning more than likely after about 15-20k miles. I don't know exactly what is covered if you bend/curb your rim, but if it's covered, it would pay for itself in no time. (Each curbed rim is about $75 to repair). To replace a non-repairable flat would be about $350. See what's covered I guess...

As far as oil changes, you figure to pay $50 per oil change x 3-4 per year x 2 years (one you have free already)... $300-400. So that seems reasonable, absent any fine print...
Are you stuck going to their dealership every time or can you go to another dealership? I have 3 in my area, so I pick and choose depending on who's available and/or my closest location (and sometimes you just have a retarded service consultant at 1 which will make you not want to take your car there...)

Keep in mind, if you get dealer installed tint and get pulled over for it, you DID buy the car that way...

Californians have used to to their advantage in the past

i would just skip the add ons. I actually got my car tinted for 120.

The road hazard can be worth it, depending. I knew I wanted aftermarket rims so i skipped it.

I picked up the car last night and I ended up skipping all the add-ons. Tint seemed expensive and I don't need to have any additional reasons to get pulled over. I declined the wheel and tire plan because I'm gambling that I won't need it. The service was the tough decision but in the end, I would still be paying $45 per oil change and I would be forced to go the dealership which isn't that convenient for me.
