Buying a G37 Coupe Journey w/Sport, Navigation, Premium soon - a few questions
I'm about two weeks out from buying my G37 (waiting until the end of the month). I've been saving up for this car so the anticipation is at an all-time high
.
However, there's a few things that stand between me and my G, specifically price and color. I contacted dealers at the end of last month (at which time I wasn't yet ready but wanted to gauge prices), which they responded basically Invoice - dealer incentive. Since that time, dealer incentive has risen to $2500. Were people able to get their coupe for below invoice and any incentives or is this basically a good deal?
Concerning color, my first choice is Athens Blue. I've been searching inventory through whatever I could find (mostly edmunds), and have only come up with one in my area. I'm not sure if it's the horrible search tools (color selection choice between different blues is lacking), but this is a little unnerving. My second color choice (blue slate) is very easy to find, but I would much rather have Athens Blue. I'm going to give dealers about a week lead time from quote request to purchase, during which time they can trade or whatever to get things in order. What has other people's experience with this color been?
Lastly, I would much appreciate dealership suggestions. I'm in Northern California and won't mind a little drive to get my car. Thanks!

hey, just wanted to drop you a line here. I work at the car dealership. I am one of the sales manager at the acura dealership. However, in every dealerships, they all have what they call "holdback" which is it's rougly around 800 to 1000 dollars depending on the dealership. That's a solely profit that their not willing to give up. IfI were you, I would offer them a price saying that the other dealership has offered you $3200 off the invoice, and tell them you will only go if you only get better offer. Usually, not many dealerships are willing to lose their holdback, but I know some of the honda dealerships had started giving up their holdback money. I would try to call them and ask for the sales manager, and talk to them from that point. If they say they will do it, than just go and buy the car. The color your also interested in, the Athens Blue, are not very popular colors to the dealerships, because usually white, black, Grey are the most popular ones. I would call them and negotiate roughly with them. I bet you, their glad to get rid of blue G37, than white G37 or the black. PM me if you need any extra tips.
Athens Blue is tough... it's supply and demand at this point to be honest with you. Some dealers that will stay anonymous are selling quite well and certain colors and packages you might have to pay for to get. I"m just giving you an honest answer and if the dealer has a rare combo car, they might not even want to trade it with another dealer
I got mine for about $700 below invoice + 20" wheel/tire upgrade, if you don't mind driving call Miller Infiniti in Van Nuys, CA and ask for Nicole in internet sales, she will give you and awesome no-haggle deal..
