My Northern Virginia Price - G37 Journey 7AT + Premium + Sports + Nav

Just want to report the deal. The car is a

2009 G37 Journey 7AT RWD Sedan Blue Slate/Graphite +
Premium Package +
Sports Package +
Nav Package +
Splash guards +
Trunk mat +
Trunk cargo net

Bought the car last Saturday from an Infiniti dealership in Vienna/McLean for

Price: $35,488 (invoice $38039)
Processing fee: $399
State sales tax: $1076.11
Dealer business license tax: $61.01
Title and license fee: $64.50
Total: $37089.12

We could have done $2,000 better if we took another G37S with the same configuration off the lot. However, my wife insisted on Blue Slate.

From the price, it looks like a Sedan.

You will love blue slate but get the clear bra for it as it is almost impossible to touch up properly.

$7,000 down. The dealer matched my penfed.org credit union rate of 3.99% for 60 months. Monthly payment is $552.

Looks pretty good, from what I've seen in the last few days of looking. I know the dealer you're talking about--they quoted me $35,545 for a G37x sedan with premium/nav, plus $399 processing (seems a little steep) and $800 freight but I had a quote from another dealer in Annapolis that didn't charge freight and used that to get the Tysons dealer to get rid of it.

Still, based on what you put up it seems I might be able to do even better if I took one off the lot. How'd you get them to do that?

My G37 came from the dealership in Annapolis.

I picked a color combination that they did not have in stock. After agreeing on price and while waiting to finalize the financing details, they offered me another G that they had in stock with the same options but different color combination. I did not ask for it or anything. Could be worth picking out a color combination that they don't have in stock but can get from a nearby dealership. One difference is that I wanted RWD which seemed to be "rare" in states north of Georgia.

Hmmm...interesting--thanks for the info, I'll try that.

I got the same answer on RWD too--I originally asked about AWD and then when I asked about RWD they basically said "Well, if we could FIND one..."

Did you start the buying process by going into the dealership, or by going through their Internet department?

I started by going to the dealership for a test drive. I worked with three sales persons in the process. The first guy "left" the dealership a week after the test drive. The second guy sent me an email with a $2,500 below invoice price. The second guy went "on liberal leave" a few days after he sent me that email. I took the email to the dealership intending to negotiate for a further $500 discount. They tried to argue that the price quoted did not include the $815 delivery fee. After a few rounds of back and forth we agreed on the price I posted. We could have done better but we were tired the negotiating game, decided that it wasn't worth it for an extra hundred or two and wanted to just get the hell out of there.
