Poor Resale Values on G37 ?

I am considering a purchase but there seems to be a few issues with this car . The leather seats seat bottoms seem to damage easily , the A-pillar creeking and popping sounds. I think I can live with these issues as the are covered under the warrantee.

But why the weak resale? see link below:

You have to compare that drop to so-called "high re-sale" cars likes BMW's; a 335i coupe has about the same drop (a bit more actually)..

I have seen real cheap G37S fully loaded with about 10-15k miles just selling for about $30k here in Texas. Of course they are sold very quickly...but I have seen more than 5 in the past month. I'm glad I leased with 73% residual value for 24 months.

This car has pretty good resale value, as indicated by a few articles floating around the forums.

Nothing is selling. Watch the news and do some research. Food and water will be a luxury soon.

funny, kelly blue book awarded the 2008 G Coupe highest resale value for a coupe, and it was the only luxury car in the overall Top 10, rated at 52% residual value after 5 years. A contributing reason I bought mine..

Resale values across the board are dropping, the G37 overall still has good resale value relative to its market

The resale on the G is good or better than most sport cars right now. People are taking huge hits on more expensive cars. You can buy a very low mileage 2007 Porsche GT3 for $80-85K and can pick up a low mileage 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo for $115-120K now. This is close to a $100K hit in two years, so be happy you aren't in that camp.....

Look at some of the used BMW's on the market. It's brutal for those guys as well.....
