OK Offer?!

2008 IP G37S 6MT

WITH
  • Almost 3k Miles
  • Premium Package
  • Illuminated Kick Plates
  • Trunk Mat
  • Trunk Net
  • Splash Guards
Invoice is $37,320 or very close to it. They're offering me to close on $38,150 but can probably talk them down a few hundred. Could I get it for below invoice since it has damn near 3k miles?! Not too sure because this is the first car I will be buying on my own.

They told me there are about only 6 IP 2008 G37S left in the nation and that they wouldn't be able to negotiate on price as flexible if they had to buy it from another dealership. I originally wanted a IP G37S w/ Nav, Premium, & Kick Plates but I guess I'll just have to live without the Nav for now

Please help! I got the sexy little **** sitting in my garage tonight and will be bringing it in the morning to tell them what I want to do. Supposively some guy offered $39,500 since he test drove a white 5AT and wanted it in Sport w/ 6MT but she was being washed for me to take him for the night. Should I shop around a bit longer?

Definitely shop around!

Any car with 3K miles, whether it's been titled or not, is a USED car. And in this market, a used 2008 G with these options should be going for around $32-33K. Don't let the dealership give you a line of BS, and it sounds like most of what they are telling you is!

Don't fall for them letting you take the car home overnight - they'll just hoping you'll fall in love with it and buy it.....

Pay not a penny more than $32k.

Here is a similar one in AT. Looks around. Research. Play hardball. Save yourself a few grand. Buy a small pet with the difference.

Update upon returning the car.

I gave them the keys and told them their asking price is too much considering it already has 3k miles on it. They insisted that since the car is over a year old, they have racked up 3k miles from test driving and one of their Infiniti customers had used it for 1 week while getting his car serviced. I kept telling them I'm not going to pay over invoice for a '08 w/ 3k miles on it.

His manager comes out to talk to me and I felt kind of harassed because I told him about how I have a friend down in Tennessee who works for Nissan Headquarters who can get a huge discount off on Infiniti cars as well, and he tells me that they will take a whole lot greater care of me if I bought the car from them whenever I come in service, compared to buying the car elsewhere. LOL. Then we start negotiating on price again since he had the "magic blue pen" and he initially drops the price to $37,000. I told him that's still much too high for a car with 3k miles. I told him I know how hard the sales guys be test driving it because it's the same vehicle I've test driving 3 times and he lets me rip it all the time Then he drops the price down to $36,000. I tell him since he has dropped it down $2,180 from the original asking price, why doesn't he just go for $35,000 or even $34,000. He calls himself crazy then drops it down to $35,000. I say that amount seems a lot more reasonable and call them out on how if they were trying to take care of me and give me the best deal possible, why would they give me the price of $38,150 to begin with (just playing dumb since I know they're always out on trying to make the most money). I tell them I'll think about it next week and they can just let the other guy who test drove the 5AT buy it if he is still offering $39,500 so they can make more money off of him. Sure enough, I drove by yesterday and still saw the vehicle where I parked it at I'm just going to wait a few more days and see if I can get them to knock off a couple more grand because my b-day is coming up and I'm looking towards a brand new toy

Just found out about the $2,000 cash to dealer rebate. Since they have around gone down to $35,000, I may be able to talk them down to $34,000. Once I'm close to closing, do you think I can bomb them with the $2,000 rebate deal and tell them to split it so I'm not totally raping them to get it down to $33,000?

Also I noticed the the left front tire+wheel has been curb checked and the left illuminated kick plate has a minor kink to it. Those would probably be replaced and will need to do a total walk around inspection now.

Your exact car - I got from my dealer for $35800 with 25 miles on it.

$35K for one that has been beat by test drives for 3000 miles - no way that it should be sold for $35K. $32 or less.

At 33K, you're NOT raping anybody. Stop thinking about the dealer - they're raping you.

K thanks fellas. Don't think they're willing to go under $35k at the moment so I'll just let it rot in the lot while I try to shop across the nation. They called me back a few times but don't want to budge from the price.

And btw, if you don't know it yet...

3K for a car that was "merely" test driven is the most stupidest thing I have heard. You should have a bulb in your head go off....

.... "demo".

That car was a combo of a demo car and a test drive car.... no way can 1000 people test drive a car for 3 miles a piece, that's just nuts.

That dealer is a loser. Stay away, ftl.

Finally Found Another Car

I finally found another car. It's a used 08 LP 6MT w/ Premium and Navigation and 9,470 miles on it. They're offering it for $33,250 and I asked them if that was a firm price which they said yes. I live out of state but have a few relatives that could go check it out and what not. NADA had it priced a couple thousand higher than what their offering price is. Deal or no deal?
