Does navigation matter?
Does navigation matter?
I've been shopping up and down Houston for a G for quite some time now and it's just so hard to make a decision. Quick question, does having a navigation/backup camera make the resale value of a G higher or should I just go whatever? I've been looking for a Vibrant Red G but so far, I've never come across one in Houston with a nav/backup. YES, IT'S THAT HARD IN HOUSTON. For some reason, prices are higher here too.
This is what I have on my list:
Blue Slate fully loaded with nav/reverse - 12,345 miles - aiming for $33,500 drive out.
White fully loaded with nav/reverse - 11,253 miles - aiming for $33,500 drive out.
Vibrant Red no nav/reverse - 3,647 miles - aiming for $33,000 drive out.
What do guys think of the prices? Is it possible or should I lower it?
The Vibrant Red is the top color choice that I want, so I don't know if I should just wait it out. Then comes the blue slate and then white.
Thanks guys

I had to have the NAV (back up camera and 10 GB music box drive). Can you look at DFW too?
With the 0.9% 72 month financing on a new 2008 G37, the final total cost for a new one may be the same as the final financing cost of a used G37 (what's the rate you're getting? I see 4 to 6 % on used cars). In my area, a new car was the same as a used one in terms of overall cost paid after interest. Bankrate.com and other sites have total loan cost calculators on them.

yeah nav is pretty cool even if you don't use it, the other features are cool... as for resale value, of course it's gonna be higher if you have it... and backup camera is a MUST i wanted mine without it, but now after having it, it's SO SO SO useful.
Comparatively speaking it will all factor out the same. You will pay more the the Nav and get more when it's sold. It could go either way really, someone might be looking specifically for your car w/nav and then another might be looking for the cheapest way to get into a G37, which would not include the Nav package. I highly recommend the Nav package, it is more than just finding your way around the circle.
You get the bluetooth without the nav package.
I didn't want the nav - even tho I test drove a G that had it. I personally don't miss it, I have a Garmin if I really need it. The back up camera would have been nice, I just didn't care about the rest of the package.....

Every American should drive across this great country at least once in his/her lifetime; what better time and way than to do so with your brand new whip while working in a breezy break-in period along the way ...
And yes ... Nav is key, for the tech, for resale, enjoyment ... staying with the times ...

Your sales person is trying to sell you on your needs...If you seem at all like your trying to have a lower priced G then he'll tell you the Nav isn't worth it...If you acted like money didn't matter he'd tell you that the Nav is a must...
I can say this...I use the damn thing ALL THE TIME...Its very user friendly and has other components that make the entire G37 experience THAT much better...
