Salesman called me back

Hello everyone, this is actually my first post and hoping to have some more once I get this purchase finalized. We went to the local dealership today and looked at the OB 08 Coupe Journey with just Nav/Premium package(no sport) sticker price on it was 42,886(odd because I thought that was the sticker price of a 09) and after an hour of negotiations he went down to 39,500. Edmunds got the car with the same options for 37,800. He called me back the next day and said he's firm about his offer and won't go lower. Does anyone have any experience on this board with just the Coupe Journey and not the fully loaded g37 with sport's package? Any input will be appreciated. thank you

should be cheaper than that. try and get some quotes from other dealers in your area or the closest you can find to compare. the best thing you can do is use multiple dealers against each other.

dealers are trying to clear out 08 inventory to make room for 09s so they should be willing to go way low. use the invoice price from edmunds and fight as much as you can.

Thank you for your advice. The dealer told me the 09's aren't coming in till Feb and they aren't having a problem selling their cars. I was thinking in my head BS. No dealer would ever call back the next day. I"ll look around the other dealerships for a price better than 37,800. Thanks again

Call the salesman back - tell him thank you for the info, but you are no longer interested in purchasing the G due to their inflexible pricing. It worked for me, they called me back in a week ready to really deal.

Your dealership should be happy anyone is buying a new car now - what area are you located in?

I'm currently living in New Orleans. Unfortunately there's only one infiniti dealership within 80 miles and pretty much know they have this whole area to themselves. I'm not in an immediate rush to get it and the way I see it, they need a sale more than I need a car at the moment. If or when he gives in, 37800 might even be asking too much for a non-S coupe.

I wasn't talking to you intricate i was talking to w0ady.

I wish you the best of luck with buying a G. For 39,000 you should get an S coupe.
