Can you really save money by ordering a car instead of buying whatever's on the lot?

I doubt it. Take the following into consideration, dealers want to get rid of the inventory they have on their lot as fast as possible, not order new ones from the factory and be left with old stock. Also for the customer you have to pay destination fees, 800 to 1000 something?

Unless your ordering like a stripped down G with no packages on it (no prem etc) you will prob pay more, thats my opinion though.

This is exactly what I have done for the previous 2 G35s and subsequent G37 as well as my wife's present FX45. At the beginning of the month, I ordered a new FX50 for the wife that will be here in February or March. I never considered it a cost savings measure, but viewed it as a courtesy extended to me by the dealer. Or, the closest thing I would get to as Bentley type service! With that said, I have always been able to negotiate invoice price. I do believe you have to have the right rapport with your salesman because as stated the dealership has to move their inventory.

Pricing has much more to do with timing rather than whether or not you order a car. Dealers for the most part can find your car and its configuration in another dealers inventory without having to order a specefic configuration from the factory. Thats why Infiniti sells packages. Yes it is easier to get the dealer to start talking negotiations about a car that is on the lot but normally you can work out the same or similar type deal even if the dealer has to locate the car elsewhere.

Dude,,,,,and this isnt the cocca cola talking, ciz I drank likea whole 16 ounce,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but, you gotta undersatnant the right now, with auto sales hurting, its not just the dealership, but the manufacturers too. People are dying to get a car off the lot. Sales dudes are good peeps and will offer you a car at a grant under invoice, Thats a great deal and the dealership is only making a small percentacge as profit, like 2.5%, so scoop it up. Buyers markey, Ud have to be partially retartded to not get a good deal here n now
