look at it in this perspective... if you were out buying a preowned car and you saw it had PC rims, mods, etc... would you buy it? your thoughts is that it's beaten on and so on....
and on a lease, the bank owns the car. you're modding their property and a mod doesn't add value to a car to their eyes.
a car is like a chick with make up--- sometimes they'll look better w/ nothing on. but at least you can take the "make up" off.

I don't know if I'd agree with that as a blanket statement, I think many drivers with mods (me included) take the utmost care of their cars and they are in better shape than avg..

The manufacturers could change their guidelines at anytime they wish. For example if they don't want a aftermarket item such as bluetooth adapter drilled on the dash they will charge you for full replacement of the dash. The reason why they would charge for full replacement cause you altered the vehicle that doesn't belong to you and it might affect the resale value.

If a customer leased that G37's in the showroom with aftermarket rims when it comes time for the preinspection they are going to see a charge for full replacement for all four wheels. The inspector can't take the lessee words that the vehicle came like that. They have to dispute it with their leasing company.

I don't know about that, wouldn't the initial lease paperwork have any additional mods like aftermarket rims noted on it? My G37 came w/ aftermarket wheels and it was clearly listed on the sticker and paperwork.

I called IFS and spoke directly to a lease specialist, and he verified ANYTHING that didn't come on the car (other than window tint) from the factory would be charged to the leasee to return it to stock form.
