Leaser's Remorse? Will it get better? Regretting my choice of not buying..
Hello All,
No, I'm not regretting my choice of the G37. I'm regretting the choice of leasing over buying. My payment on the fully loaded G37 is $525 + taxes, I put $0 out of pocket, not even first month. But I feel It probably would have been cheaper to purchase. Did I do the right thing? Hmm...

Hasn't gone away with me completely and I purchased in Nov. If I lease next time I will do a way shorter term lease. I feel it's stupid to have leased this car for 3 years like I have. Might as well have purchased. So to answer your question.... might not go away.
I'm wishing I'd gone 2 years too. Still love the car though - no question there.
The payment might be slightly lower since the terms are extended but you obviously didn't plan on keeping the car for years since you decided on a lease. A lease is a great option if you plan on getting rid of the car in 2-3 years. Don't regret it, life is too short, be happy and be done with it! Besides, it's too late anyways

How much were you going to put down if you purchased? If nothing then expect your payments to be higher.

I try not to look at this section of the board. Love the car, but seeing the deals people are getting now doesn't make me feel good. But I've had the car longer than most of you... haha.
Perhaps the thread title should have been "Leaser's remorse"?
I too sort of agonized over buy vs. lease for a while there... but went with the 2.9% deal. For some perspective, I put down $10K on a 5-year loan... my monthly payment? $550
Buying made more sense in the end for me - no mileage restrictions and no worries about modding and having to return the car to stock condition, etc. Sure, it's a "depreciating asset" - but I plan on paying the note off in more like 4 years... and I'll have equity in the car to boot.
That said, you leased for a reason - so don't second guess yourself. If you feel that buying makes more sense, no worries... 2-3 years will come and go like that. This will give you some time to save for the down payment on your next car. In the meantime, enjoy the G!

It's very important to weigh everything before buying or leasing. I know of many who've leased only to later want out before lease end, but faced a big penalty. I also know many leasers who always had to watch how much they drive (excess mileage fees). It's not just about a lower monthly payment.
I do regret leasing the car a little bit because I have to worry about the miles I put on the car, and the fact that the mods have to come off in 2 yrs, but I'm still glad I leased.
Right now I regret not buying it, but in 2yrs when the lease comes up I'm going to be happy that I don't have to worry about selling the car, because even if I had bought the car I would not have kept it for more than 2yrs anyway.
