Dude, seriously. What are you talking about?

I wish I had a picture of a bunny with a pancake on its head cause that'd be pretty fitting for you right now.

I honestly do want to hear what you have to say, but your little comebacks are starting to confuse and annoy me all at the same time.

Basically, what he's trying to say is that the transducer fibulator module, perpedicularly connects to the tachtometer, therefore stating that human values are coinciding with the flux capacitory stipulation...

... seems to me like he's just trying to get a rise out of people and validate his financial views... while playing psychologist...

Two reasons: 1) The residual value is extremely high after two years ~72%; other manufactures/autos are in the high 50's and 60's. The higher the residual, the lower the lease payment. And, 2) The money factor rate. Currently, the MFR is 0.00195 or 4.7% for a two year, 12,000 miles a year lease. The lower the MFR the lower the lease payment.

Essentially, Infiniti is creating a great opportunity to lease.

Lease vs Buy is almost as hot as 5AT vs 6MT.. geez..

Personally I don't care how others decide to purchase their vehicle. I agree with dji this thread was to discuss leave vs buy nothing more. And his point is that we should make a new thread to discuss "rationalizations" etc...

this thread in entertaining to say the least... but not informative.

This decision can ONLY be made by the person making the purchase at the time of research. Things to take into account are incentives that promote leasing vs buying, type of car and uses for the car your looking at. these are few examples that should help formulate a picture of what it is best suits your lifestyle. this is definitely a lifestyle choice regardless of what anyone here says. If your lifestyle revolves around a new car every 2-3 years then pull the trigger on leasing unless you decide financing a vehicle and taking it upon yourself to sell it to someone else on your own accord seems like a good choice. some have rationalized this route and see it fit for they're lifestyle.

anyways thats just one example of things to consider, however, this decision is ultimately up to you and what you feel will fit you best. This shouldnt be a moral or values issue. it should be subjective to each and everyone of us as we are all different in our respective needs.

end the banter

*excuse the spelling. at the airport and this blackberry isn't the best.

I think most people lease because they don't want to deal with low baller, joke players, and people who come to see a car, knowing they are $4-5K short!! I hate seeing threads where someone lists a car for sale on a forum, and clearly states "Make Offers!!", only to have a**hats go and say "Your price is too high, I saw one with lower miles for $2K cheaper." I would rather be able to have a date set to give the car back to the dealer, and walk away from it, and move on. Let the dealers get low-balled!!

Im exactly with scooby above...the hassle of trying to sell a car for what you actually want or KBB value, is just ridiculous. Its a tediously annoying headache and also time consuming. I dont have time to put an ad online, then have people lowballing me, then calling me and setting up a time to come see the car, and in the end not even buying it and wanting to give me 5k less than what i asked.
This is the main reason I leased, its not even about the cheaper payments, that wasnt my primary concern although thats never a bad thing. Even if my insurance is a slight bit higher, so what. Not worrying about costly maintenance down the road with ownership is also a headache (experience from last car). Turn in the car at 2 years, its the dealer or next owners problem. Also im done with modding cars unlike alotta people who are members on these forums.

Also, by the time a car is paid off (typically people take a 60 month loan), at the five year mark, you're running into 60k service, other maintenance issues from wear and tear, much much lower residual value remaining for you to be able to sell. Unless you pay off the principle faster you're just paying for a depreciating item, sure the car is yours, you can do whatever you want with it, blah blah. Im not leasing because I cant afford to buy the car, I just rather not deal with buying right now.

Frankly, I leased because this is my mid-life crisis car. I hope to be all grown up again by the time my lease ends.

quick noob question... after your lease is up and u decide that u want to keep the car, do you simply finance what you owe from your lease? wouldnt your monthly payments shoot sky high?

Thumbs up agreed

I'm with Scooby, NyC on this.

Taxes were also another factor. If I buy or finance, I have to pay taxes on the whole car (9.3% out here). On a lease taxes are paid only on the lease payment. That creates over a $2500 difference over 2 years, which I'd have to recover in a private sale. On trade I'd get a credit for the tax - but screwed in other ways.

Obviously, this varies from state to state.
