Ordering questions

When is the best time of the month to order a car?
One dealer told me that they order in the first week of the month for the next months production.
I want the car to arrive at the end of March, is 90-120 days about right from order to delivery?

Has anyone received a discount on an ordered car?
I have 6 Infiniti dealers within 50 miles, should I email all of them and let them bid for my order, and then take the best one to the dealer that will service the car?

Any particular reason you need to order? When I went to the dealer a couple weeks ago they had plenty of them on the lots and were willing to trade with another dealership for something specific that they didn't have?

If you're looking for a "deal" on the car, in general buy one off the lot on the last day of the month about 2 hours before closing. The dealership would love to get an extra unit off their inventory.

that sounds about right, I put an order in two weeks ago... I'm also using VPP plan D so we'll see how it goes...I ordered the car from Infiniti in Decatur, GA Ilya is the sale's reps name he hasnt had any hard numbers yet so I'm getting ready for the '' fee's game '' a special fee for this and a special fee for that and an item or two the dealer has added on to boost there profit up.....but we'll see how true it turns out in a couple of month's

I've been watching the inventories of dealers within 100 miles of me, and there are none configured the way I want it.
There was one that came close, but that dealer had already installed the front plate bracket, which I won't accept.

Was your car already in the pipeline?

No. I ordered one from the factory. I checked a few weeks later and got a copy of the order sheet. Guess what? No spoiler like I ordered!!! I called my sales rep and he said he'd see if he could fix it. Sales manager was able to reroute my car to a Chicago dealer in exchange for one he had arriving at the same time but with a spoiler. When I go to get it on Friday, it better have a spoiler on it!

Not even 60 days?
That seems too short for a factory order.

How long do you think it takes to build a car in a modern assembly plant? I ordered a Dodge Ram pickup in 2000 (built in Mexico) and I was told 4 to 6 weeks. Dealer called me 18 days later and said it was in.

I'd guess no more than 2 to 3 weeks max and the rest of the time is transport by ship from Japan. A month at most. Another week from the port and we are at 2 months assuming no delays.
