It'll depend on location, amount financed, loan length & credit score among other things.

DC/Northern VA area
Financed $30K
60 months
credit score high (in the 800s)
Rate: 6.64%

I had an internet loan for 6.25% in hand when I went to the dealer but the dealer refused to take it. Said many dealers don't accept them any more because of fraud and having a hard time getting their money from the internet companies. So even though I had a lower rate, I had to go with a higher one because the E-loan check could only be made out to a dealer (not me or a bank).

For low interest rates, Try the Credit Union in your area, The Pentagon, and Costco. They've been below 6% for all three of them. Maybe at least one being lower than 5.5%.

If anyone has USAA, check your "pre-approvals". Have an approved loan for 60 months at 4.99%.

5.59% through Infiniti/Bank of America.

Pre-approved for 5.29% through Pentagon Federal Credit Union. I went with Infiniti/Bank of America though for convenience. The difference was negligible. I did use the Pentagon Federal Rate to get the rate as low as possible at Infiniti though.

Credit Score: High 700's

USAA is the cheapest out there if you qualify @4.99%. Pentagon Federal was also pretty low at 5.29%.

I went through PenFed and got the 5.29%....these rates over 6% seem like a rip off

My father is a retired US Navy. How does one apply for USAA? I'm curious as to how this works out. Please let me know, and thanks so much =)

well I think the eligible family needs to become a member if they are not already then that persons family member can become members (spouse, children, etc). I would just call them (USAA and PenFed) to see how its done....they are both very user friendsly
