I'm trying to keep the total price, with sales tax, around $40k. So that means no sport or tech pkg. and no rear spoiler, which is fine with me. The prem and nav pkgs are really what's most important to me. The other stuff would be nice, but it's not a necessity for me.

Right now, I work on a freelance basis and I sometimes go a few months without a contract, so I don't want to get in over my head. I don't want to have to take a loan out for any more than $20k, which I can easily do if I keep the total between $40 - $41k.

I haven't placed an order yet. Between all the dealers around here (there's about 8 in a 30 mile radius), they all have several models in stock with the options and colors I want. I haven't gone to the dealer in person either because if I go, I know I'm walking out with a new car. I won't be able to resist the temptation!

I'm waiting to hear on my current freelance assignment. If they extend me through December, I'm going to apply for a loan through Costco, then head out to the dealers within a week or so.

Right now, they're offering 5.74% for 30-36 months, 6.10% for 37-60 months, and 6.74% for 61-72 months. If you're an Executive Member, you get an extra .10% off the loan rate.

Costco offers the loans through Capital One and you're basically getting a 0.25% reduction off the rates Capital One offers to the general public. Costco also offers an auto buying program, but the G37 isn't listed as an option yet, I guess it's too new. I might wait until I can get the car through Costco because Executive Members also get 15% off parts, service, labor, and accessories if you buy at one of their dealerships.

I think I sound like a Costco ad...

ABQG35C...Some other folks mentioned the Pentagon Federal Credit Union on a different thread. Their rate is 5.29% for up to 72 months, which is pretty good.

I'm looking to finance $20k for 60 months. If I get 6% through Costco, total interest paid over 60 months is $3,199. If I spent the $20 to join PFCU, the interest would be $2,805. It's only about a $400 difference, but then again, who wants to spend more money than they have to?

MaximaPower, I just left a message for the salesguy to confirm the quote I got. I hope it's not an error!

EJ2000...Can you give us some more info? Which model and which options did you pick? What was the MSRP?

It's definitely still a ways off invoice since the car was almost fully optioned out. Window Sticker MSRP was $44475, Dealer MSRP (with wheel locks) was $44580. The sale price was $41518.

My lease is 42 months and 15k miles/year with 0 down - for $604.23/mo.

Since my initial order was screwed up, the dealer took off invoice pricing on the additional options (4WAS, tech) that my car has. I also prenegotiated a little before my deposit, as well as after the order was switched. It was more of a special case, and I was told they have not yet discounted any other G37s yet.

MaximaPower....just got off the phone. Same story. Quote was for a G35, not G37. Although I don't see how they could have screwed that up since the quote form clearly said G37 Journey with Prem and Nav Pgks. The guy said the most they will discount right now is $1,000 off MSRP. He said in 3 - 6 months, they will start discounting it more. He said he'd also consider a group buy, but didn't know what the discount would be.

I'm not too upset because I had originally planned to wait until the spring for multiple reasons - snow, wanting to see if any bugs emerge w/ the new engine, save up more for downpayment, etc. But it sure would have been nice to have my new G for the fall....oh well!

I believe $1k off is still the third best reported deal on this site! You could call back at the end of the month and say straight out you want $1500 off and you'll do the deal that day.
