Building Barbarella

Wanted to teach kids how to drive then fun car for me. Well I went so far overboard. I immediately started turning it into a track car that will stay street legal. Money ran out. Long story short, road course track days are way outta my budget. My G37 will be for running errands and some “soft-roading” as well as rally cross. I still need to teach kids a few driving lessons but since it’s not good enough for spoiled rich kids, the car is all mine now. So building it the way I want, will treat it like a Jeep.

Bought it with 3” exhaust and a few other mods

took A LOT of work

already added BC coilovers, Akebono calipers, several OEM remanufactured replacement parts, but only “power” mod I added was a Takeda cold air intake. Car had hot air intakes but the pipes were all dry rotting so I found what I thought was best simplest design. Eventually want an ECUTEK

gonna raise coilovers to maximum ride height
switch tires to 255/50R19 Falken WildPeak AT3
finish putting ARP extended wheel studs on
and Building a hitch cuz I wanna tow a few hundred pounds. I know plenty of people who do with sports cars. This is all gonna take a long time. I already put over $10k of parts into a $4000 car so I basically gotta barter all future purchases. Plus I’m a disabled veteran who uses a wheelchair frequently. My sports rigid wheelchair won’t fit in the trunk…

first pic is when I brought home first time. Last is my goal /inspiration

Ha! One reply and I think telling me I’m retarded. Well yes, but I enjoy a challenge. A local shop does lots of stuff with G37s/370Zs and lifted Miata’s. I’ll hafta check them out. I should probably fix my jack so I can get to all the stuff I have planned…

Still haven’t put on a hitch. The headliner and a pillars will be reupholstered and reinstalled. Not sure if I wanna fix the cracked dash. I think I need to put in a new alternator and definitely front crank seal. Sitting for now
