I'm glad you mentioned it, otherwise I'd probably have thrown it out. I'd be happy to ship it to you. I was actually going to reach out to you to see if you have a pin to connect my DRL LEDs into the connector of the Power Supply Harness in the IPDM. In my rush to get my old G for sale, I had to cut out the previous pin and leave it in that IPDM, so I can't install the DRLs without them. Given all the engine work you do, I figured you might have one

Did your JEGS ones come with pads? Mine came with pads for the rear but not the front. I went with StopTech pads and have been very happy with them. No noise or dust.
Mine didn't come with any pads sadly. Oh well, it's an excuse to upgrade/spend more $$

I have plenty of these.

Build Update:

Got the PCV Delete Kit from ConceptZ and got it installed. Installation was relatively straightforward, although removing the OEM PCV hose from the back of the crankcase was rather annoying (not surprising as it's been on the car for 15 years). Quality of the kit was good, although a similar setup could be sourced individually for relatively cheap. Oh well, it was on sale and it's a temporary measure until I commit to a proper catch can setup. Here's some pics:

Vibrant Filters and couplers

All installed! Will probably swap the worm couples on the intake plugs for some black zip ties to clean up the look

After getting the bumper reinstalled, today I headed to my local mechanic to complete the suspension overhaul. I usually like to DIY; but messing with 15 year old suspension components without a lift did not sound like a good time. And glad I brought it there, as we ran into a few seized bushings in the rear.

SPC Front/Rear Camber Arms, SPC Toe Bolts, SPL Endlinks, and new O2 sensors

After a few hours we were able to get almost everything installed except for the Toe Bolts. Unfortunately the OEM was seized and the bushing was ripped as seen below:

Trashed

The condition of the bushing prevented us from using heat, and candidly I wouldn't have peace of mind knowing that I had a blown bushing back there. So the hunt for a replacement was on- after scouring parts diagrams it appeared that OEM only sells the bushing as part of the whole Suspension Control Arm (for a cool $144!). Thankfully Whiteline makes a Polyurethane replacement- and an order to ConceptZ was placed. Paid to expedite shipping, as I will be installing my new wheels/tires and would like to get things aligned ASAP to prevent premature wear.

To round up the mods- I received a package from NISSAN Race Shop earlier this week JDM Skyline Illuminated Kickplates! My junkyard sills had a few LEDs that burned out, and unfortunately the plates themselves had separated in places. Oh well, only had $50 in the project- and at least I was able to utilizer the "T style" harness from the junkyard set which made installation a breeze.

I was torn on going with new Infiniti Sills, but I really like the new revised "Skyline" sills I've seen on a few build threads on here- definitely feels more premium. And given this car has elements of both a G35/G37; the Skyline name feels like a cool way to tie everything together.

More updates to come, its an exciting/expensive time for the build!

Are those skyline sills an actual Nissan part? never knew they existed, that's cool.

Those sills appear to be aftermarket- and look really good! Details, please...

The OEM Nissan ones are "blah."

I have the Coupe set (just haven't installed, yet).

These are indeed OEM Sills (P/N G6950-JK000) as you can see below. Nissan Race shop had these on sale for $265. What's weird is the picture shows the older style sills, but @Peepz thread is what inspired me to grab these. Not sure on the coupe front however.

Hmmm... That's what I have, though JL000 (Coupe):

Might have been a production change... (typical Nissan) or maybe the color is Coupe/ Sedan specific... I'll have to look into them as I really don't like the white "illumination" (which is why I've been slack installing them).

Thx!

They kinda look like the ones I designed, I had them laser cut from a sheet of aluminum as well.

Indeed, I suspect Nissan did one of their typical "ninja" changes and kept the part #s the same. Might be worth a call to Nissan Raceshop and see if they can clarify. I agree I've always felt the block strip looked a little cheap.

Totally agree, I like the ones you designed as well. But when I saw it as an OEM option, I had to have them as I'm a sucker for OEM parts.

Glad to have inspired someone with my build. Although nothing serious, sharing is caring lol. Here's a daytime photo of the new style for those scrolling through and have no time to look at my thread. I too enjoy this new style.

Build Update:

Got the Whiteline Bushings (W62996) installed this week. Unfortunately (as with all things suspension) it was a bit trickier. Got the busted OEM bushing out no problem, and boy did they need replacing:

Completely busted

Unfortunately, the Whiteline bushings were just a tad too big to fit onto the OEM Spring Bucket. So it needed to be grinded down a bit to fit (shout out to Nguyen Automotive who did a spectacular job with it).

Close but not quite....

With the bushings now complete, I had them install the SPC Toe Bolts. Finally have the suspension components overhauled, and I'll need to get this aligned ASAP. I've been researching a few shops local to me, and will most likely be headed to Lucrore Racing (they have experience with modified vehicles and have a in-ground rack).

In the meantime...

I purchased a set of Continental DWS 06 Plus from TireRack and had them installed a few days ago on my Coupe wheels:

Just absolutely love how the black chrome works against the paint color- and for $500 I have no complaints. Eventually I'll move to another (lighter) set with dedicated summer tires, but these will definitely hold me over for awhile. Gotta get these ceramic coated soon, as I'm definitely not looking forward to cleaning them LOL. This has also got me thinking about blacking out the window chrome (or just the belt and leaving the top) but those are definitely on the back burner for now as I've got enough projects going on.

Lastly, I received my CF hood from Throtl that I purchased back in January (yay supply chains)!

My old molded sport lip bumper is with the painter now, so I'm looking forward to getting that back and completing the 2010+ conversion. He did an amazing job with my Nismo's bumper, so I'm really excited to see how this all turns out (shameless pic below)

Still have to finish painting the rear calipers, but I'm very happy with how the fronts turned out. I've sourced the other components to make the upgrade:
  • Stoptech SS braided lines
  • Akebono Sport Pads
  • R1 Concepts Carbon Geomet Slotted Rotors
I've got about a week to knock out the painting project, as the car is back at the collision shop getting some door dings removed. Anxious to wrap all these projects up as my paternity leave is almost up and its back to consultant life!

Build Update:

Progress has been a little slower than I would have liked, but life happens. I installed my new Seibon TS Style CF Hood:

Very pleased with the fitment and finish of the hood. A much notable improvement over my dented and rusted OEM hood, and the vents provide much needed cooling to the HR engine. Eventually I'll paint the hood black and leave the vents CF, but for now I'm enjoying the "change of pace" look. Definitely helps the car stand out on the road.

After that, I got the car back from the collision shop, and the rear passenger door came out MINT. You can see the before damage in the pic below:

You can see a huge dent and many scuffs on the passenger rear door. Also I love how the CF hood looks muted in this lighting, almost a preview of how it'll look painted.

And it's completely unnoticeable now. Very pleased. I've got my old molded Sport Lip 2010+ bumper at the painter, and once that's complete I'll do the 2010+ front end conversion to complete this phase of the exterior restoration. So tired of looking at these hazy headlights and busted 07-09 bumper.

Last up, I got the car aligned at Lucore Automotive today. Given the complete suspension overhaul along with lowering the car and upsizing the wheels - my alignment was completely out of spec. So much so that the VDC and slip lights were on as I was driving to the appointment (thankfully I have the Z and wife's CRV to drive around, so the G just sat until this appointment). I wanted the shop to get me as close to OEM specs as possible, and am very happy with the results:

Freshly washed and aligned! Also note how the passenger rear door is perfect again!

Look at those before numbers. That thrust angle is pure garbage

It's been a flurry of mods, but I'm so happy with the results so far. This car has come such a long way since I purchased it a year ago. Handling is very planted, firm but not too stiff. Just perfect for a DD.

I've finished painting the PowerStop Calipers in VHT Burnt Copper, just waiting on a new set of decals to arrive (the ones I purchased from eBay were too big for the rears DOH). Once that arrives, I'll do the BBK swap . Also seriously considering getting these wheels cermamic coated to promote ease of cleaning and protect the finish a bit. Always something! I head back to work next week so the progress on the build will slow down considerably, but I'm content with the progress I've been able to make so far.

Build Update:

Finally received my decals from eBay, so got the calipers all finished up. Absolutely thrilled with how they turned out, especially considering they are remanufactured Akebonos. Shout out to @iCrap for the inspiration to DIY these. The Burnt Copper is stunning, and should play very nicely with my black chrome wheels and black paint. Also laid out all of the supporting mods for BBK Upgrade (R1 Concepts Grommet Slotted Rotors, Akebono Performance Pads, and Stoptech SS lines).

Seriously can't believe these were $350 calipers.

MOAR stopping powahh

Hoping to get this all installed next week, as I'm quite tired of looking at the peasant brakes on the G35. So silly that Infiniti didn't offer the Akebonos on this trim- but the Amazon deal on PowerStops made this a rather cheap upgrade. Build is definitely coming along, the 2010+ Front Conversion is the next major mod. From there I'd like to get my CF parts adjusted/painted by a body shop, and then get this thing tuned (tired of looking at SES light due to HFCs). Since I have a HR, I'll have to go through UpRev- and leaning towards Martin at RSEnthalpy to do the E-tuning.
