Being able to steer the front of the car with trail braking into the corner and with the throttle on the way out to make the car dance is an awesome feeling too. Congrats!
Thanks. loving the new STI btw as well, bet its a blast!

I've been thinking a lot lately about putting the G back to stock and selling it. The car is in such great condition that I'm having a hard time wanting to keep it as a second car that sits in the garage and is used, at this point, primarily for track days. The used car market is still at ATH and it makes a lot of sense to sell high and get into something else for a lot less money that I don't feel so bad tracking.

I test drove a 04 350z yesterday and I really liked how much smaller the car felt, it changed direction quicker, and just felt like a proper sports car IMO. The seller and I couldn't agree on the price so I passed but its giving me a lot of food for thought.
My two biggest hold ups are that I like my cars CLEAN, and most Z's Im finding for the price's I think they are worth are not very clean.
Second the G is a dying breed of relativity no frills/electronics 4 door RWD manual cars.

First world problems I guess.

Here are some shots that I'll be throwing up in the 18" wheels thread:

Bingo. The 6MT G Sedan is a very uncommon car. So if all you're doing is trying to maximize resale while rationalizing compromises, you're could be setting yourself up for regrets.

However, if getting rid of the G were part & parcel to getting something even more special, then by all means move on.

I'm sure a part of me will regret selling it regardless of how happy I am with my next car, I do enjoy the car. Missing your previous cars comes with the territory when you genuinely enjoyed owning them. I miss my Prelude, TSX, and even my TL sometimes when I'm driving the G, and I still own my TL lol.

I'm just trying to figure out how I actually care about owning a relatively uncommon car vs something I'd simply have more fun in. Another issue I have is I think the G just doesn't look attractive, I never found myself just wanting to stare at it after a wash the way I do with some other cars.

Looks are certainly subjective, but the G is rather plain in stock appearance- which yours is (obviously you've focused more on performance mods). I'd wager OEM Sport Lip/Rear Spoiler, custom headlights, and a midnight or Rochester style grille would completely transform the way you feel about the aesthetics of the car. I know I felt that way on my old KAD G.

Subtle changes that no one else would really notice because it looks OEM, but things you would appreciate because it personalizes your car... stuff like that can make all the difference. Sometimes it's the little stuff that matters, the details. (IMO)

There's also a lot of satisfaction in maintaining a perfectly clean car, which the OP sure seems to have done.

With the used car market being at a all time high this means you are also going to pay an all time high for a 350z. And if you are getting a Z, I'd recommend one with the HR which means you are going to spend more $$.

I enjoy looking back at the G, I think it is a sharp looking vehicle. This is the first car my wife does not like as she thinks it looks like a frog?

You're probably not going to get faster unless you start putting some heavy work and money in. Maybe modding the exterior might arouse your PP for a bit but if you're already here (not looking back at the car) then you might need another girl. I think the biggest drawback with the sedan is just how heavy it can feel. Kinda ****ty feeling that some bland cars can keep up with the G at part throttle and many times I see myself over accelerating just because.

At the moment and with this market I could see you flip it for a really nicely modded boosted S2k possibly. Sounds like you need a lot more power to satisfy the need since it appears you're over dominating the G already.

Good luck!

Everything you've listed I've contemplated. The midnight grill in vinyl and rear spoiler are two that I will 100% do if I choose to hang on to the car. The OEM sport lip on white...I don't know...just doesn't do it for me. The lines don't jive for me and unfortunately there isn't much else out there for the sport bumper. I have an Autokits prototype lip but I'm not in love with it either. I also think I'd feel very differently if the car was Blue Slate or Vibrant Red.

The headlights I'm looking into getting done locally as well. It would be a very simple black or gunmetal chrome housings to mimic the look of the coupe headlights, no light strips, demon eyes, etc.

That you not wrong about at all. HR's are going for $14k. Nope. I think I'd be happy with a clean $7k DE as I'd really just like something set up for grip and could live with the DE's inherent faults..I think.

I'll have to look for the frog shape lol

The weight of the G is certainly off-putting for sure, but I do enjoy the power it has. Being that the G is technically the most "powerful" car I've owned I'm not looking for more power as much as I am for a car that gives me "I'm driving something special" feels.
Ideally I'd prioritize grip for any build first.

If someone would trade me a clean S2000 straight up for the G there would be zero hesitation on my part. I would keep that car for life I could.

This is my fastest daily, I guess from the amount of driving and fun I have in the car convinces me to keep it.
Also being that I have so many things to do to it still gives me hope that I'll run better in the future.

Realistically a back to swap and sell would give you enough money to get into a 90s special sports car or early 2000s unique chassis.

After the G I would love to go back to simpler things. South Florida is saturated with V36s, Hell I met my same car with the same wheels just AWD at the gas station.

Bluetooth OBDC adapter... The hard-wired version was such a freaking PITA for data logging.

Are you going to hire Eugene for the tune? I think you were on the fence between him and Seb. And did you decide to commit to E85? That's a big decision I wimped out on with too little research too late in the game.

BTW, thinking about tuning made me go back and read the Tuning project thread I started at the beginning of the year, and I realized you were the member who recommended the flat OBDC ribbon. Thanks again for that advice, 2.2Lude.
