I'm very glad!! Do you think I should keep the stock chrome lug nuts or buy back OEM-style lugs? And what color center cap?

 

Just a thought, keep your silver lug nuts and paint the center caps (I assume you're planning to use your Infiniti OEMs) the wheel color but tape off the logo, so the cap is gunmetal and the logo silver (if possible). Would be a nice look I think. Would take some extra work but would go well w/ the two tone wheel color.

I actually thought about that exact idea yesterday! My guess would be to tape over the logo with blue masking tape and then cut around the outline/inside with an X-Acto knife, thus leaving just the logo masked off.

I'll have to head to Home Depot or Lowe's to see what paint will match these wheels the best.

 

Or... take one of your new wheels, and the four center caps, to a body shop. Have them color-match to the rim, and professionally mask, paint & clear-coat the pieces. If you go that route, now is the time while you have everything loose in your hands. In the context of all the money you've spent, this seems like an appropriate expenditure for an important detail.

 

That can also work, except for the fact that I'm in Jacksonville, North Carolina. None of the shops out here are very reputable/take pride in their work. It was a struggle to even find a shop that has a tire mounting machine that won't scratch the wheels up.

On that note, I may just ask a dealership who they use for body work.

 

Well, if you want i can cut you a logo for the centercaps or a mask you can use for painting on my vinyl cutter and mail you it. I I did something like this for my TSW wheel center caps. You just have to tell me the size.

Fast Intentions 2.5in catback, 18in resonators, and round/coupe mufflers finally installed today. Sounds amazing, will post sound clips tomorrow. Also tried installing my Hotchkis sways, but the nut on the rear endlink rounded off since it was so corroded. I'll be purchasing Moog end links and removing the OEM links as a whole. Will be pairing this with non-resonated AAM high flow cats in the coming weeks. Sean (VIVID) stated that it's impressive that I've managed to do so much and that I still have temporary tags. Pretty funny if you ask me.

If you're worried about corrosion... when I had my FI catback installed two years ago, I scrambled and located stainless steel nuts & bolts for the flange connections. Maybe overkill. Maybe not.

Hahaha, funny you pointed that out. That's the Auto Hobby Shop they have for us on base. You pay $8/hr and get access to the lift and any tool you need... Seriously, it's all Snap-on, air tools, they even have a CNC machine for us and tire mounting machines. I do all the work on my car with my friends. I've learned so much and saved hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. They also make Marines clean up after themselves... hence why it looks like that.

I will definitely swap out for SS hardware now that you mention it. I made sure to apply anti-seize for the time being.
