Congrats Chris
All, bittersweet day. I tried hard to find a 6mt sedan but was unsuccessful. So next best thing was the STI. We are pregnant with our first child so I needed a sedan and it had to be 6mt. Most of you will be missed. It was a fun 3 ish years. I'll be around somewhat.
Here she is. 2017 with 10k miles. There's really no comparison between the 7at and 6mt so there' that. The G is much more a luxurious refined car. The STI is more raw drivers feel. The steering is heavy and mechanical. The G steering was soft and compliant in a good way but not near as connected to road feel. The STI Is noisy, road noise compared to the G. The G exhaust sound is much more pleasing. I have a tomei on the STi as well. The 18 wrx STi has a super expensive windshield engineered to reduce road noise exponentially I may opt to have my windshield swapped depending on cost. The G felt faster down low due to STi boost lag. 5k rpm in sport Sharpe is insane. Gobs of power. I can definitely recommend making the switch if your looking for a more connected driver experience. The G was great and I'm not sure if I could have justified making the switch if I had 6mt sedan. Since baby is due in June it was the right choice for us. Lmk if you have more questions. I'm still learning what the STi has to offer.
