Cats are an emissions issue so the warranty is a little longer. Even though you're changing them out with rhfc I'd see if the dealership will take care of it for you.

This. Brand new OEM cats are pretty expensive, I looked at my invoice when I got my warranty work done for both cats, $1400 for 1.5hrs of labor and the new cats. Free stuff is always nice, and its nice to have a backup if your HFC ever go bad.

Will do. I'll call them later on today and see what they can do for me. Hey, if it is covered they'll have to come get my car from my job. The dealership gave me a year of courtesy shuttle service for free

You're already in a better position than I was! My closest Infiniti dealership is 150 miles away. I drove 3 hours only to get denied a loaner car because I wasn't 21... I had to make the same trip 2 days afterwards with a friend following me the whole way.

So, sure enough after speaking with the dealership I'm still under warranty until 80k miles. They're going to pick up my car next friday, give me a new Q50 as a loaner, and take care of the Cat for me. THANKS A LOT!!

What kind of rattling was this cats issue you guys are talking about? Was it just at start up or did it stay around? Closing in on my warranty and I have a rattle at start up but it seems alot of people do.

Rattle from the cats is more prevalent when applying light throttle and when you let off the throttle, you hear it in the lower RPM range.

Yeah man, I wouldn't worry about it. The new cats will make your car sound normal again.

So, I dropped my car off for repair of the front bumper this morning. Of COURSE it wouldn't go as planned. Seems the previous owner really had a field day with his backyard ghetto repair schemes. It was found that the bumper had a terrible attempt at being repaired before and, because so, would need to be outright replaced. Needless to say that cuts into the budget quite a bit on the end-of-summer mods :-/

Not ****ing happy at all. Especially after I said yes to ordering it.

Ouch, that sucks. Did the shop show you the shoddy work before you ordered the new bumper, or is it at least a shop that you trust?

It's actually the local Honda dealership here. I do some personal accounting services year round for the body shop owner so he takes care of us if we need service and such. Always give us a great deal on maintenance and the like, so I do trust his expertise.

So the new front fender is on and freshly painted. Can't detail the car for a few weeks (will have to make sure the dealership knows this when they pick my car up on the 18th for the catalytic coverters), but i'll manage.

Took some pics of the old fender and what was going on underneath. Seriously what happened to this thing before i bought it? lol
