Seeing the two, I still think spaceless is the way to go. It's a good plate. Lock it in and get it.
Speaking of way too much thought- I looked up the Got Milk ad campaign. It ran for about 20 years ending in 2014 in most places, but still runs in California. I had no idea it ran that long. I guess it is only fitting that I run that plate in "America's Dairyland" Wisconsin.

There you go! You've got a regional tie-in that adds discussion content to the decision. And it's entirely valid, drawing the tongue-in-cheek reference into something more personal. Even more so if your twin brother were tragically maimed by an automated milking system. Or if your mom was a cow. Probably not that last one.

How did you know about my twin brother??? That's crazy! My mom grew up on a farm, but she was probably the furthest thing from cow-sized.

I found my new SPORT button! Not what I expected, but it is the traction control/VDC button. Let me explain. I shut it off the other day just to get a little loose around a corner and was reminded and surprised at how much better I can put the power down, accelerate, and control the car without the hyperactive traction control kicking in all the time. (DISCLAIMER: I do not recommend this for everyone. Keep in mind I have a heavily modified car with very sticky tires, very different suspension and power delivery than stock.)

That being said, if you are a very competent driver when it comes to at the limit handling and have your car set up properly you might be surprised by how much more fun your car is and how much better it hooks up under throttle with the traction control off. This car just became a lot quicker and more fun to drive.

What do you mean you found your new sports button?

Did you happen to discover it after all this time?
Doesn't look factory, is this a switch youre using to disengage trac fully?
Doesnt all G37s come with a VDC off switch?

Always turn off TC for hole shots, or if you want to oversteer. Same for auto-x.

The "GOT 6 SPD" with the spaces looks nice evenly spaced out.

Sorry if I wasn't clear guys. I always run faster lap times at the limit with the traction control turned off when I am on the track. I seldom drive at or just beyond the limit on the street for obvious reasons. Also, running the stickiest tires known to man this side of a set of slicks, I was not aware just how much grip I was giving up to the TCS being on while driving on the street. It is a substantial and surprising difference in my car. (I know this will vary with mods and driving style.) I would liken it to a SPORT button, but it is a significantly more noticeable change in how the car drives.

My car has the button with the car and squiggly lines below it like in the picture, but the picture is actually off of an Infiniti M if you want to get technical.

The first thing I do post start up is I turn off the traction control. When I had the C7, it annoyed me it didn't have a "I wanna party" setting. I had to turn the Driving Mode dial to Track & then double click the traction button so the traction/stability options show up and then scroll all the way to Sport 2, Race or completely off.

Those settings sound very similar to the ATS-V. The M3 also had a maddening array of options for throttle, steering, traction, suspension, etc. However, the M1 & M2 buttons are suddenly starting to make a lot of sense.

I took everything out of my car that was not bolted down yesterday and weighed it when it was just about out of gas. I was very surprised to see the weight so low. I guess all my weight saving tactics have finally paid off. Not too bad for a car that is supposed to weigh over 3,700 lbs.

Is that 3700 pound stat with full fluids and a full fuel tank? Or full fluids and an empty fuel tank?

At 6 pounds per gallon and a 20 gallon tank... that's 120 pounds + 3440 = 3560, which is still 140 pounds less than the spec.

Do you think you did 140 pounds of weight savings? Could be.

3440 seems pretty good, but I feel like I'm missing something. When you weighed your car last month it was 3840 with you and 100 pounds of gas. What wasn't bolted down that weighed 300 pounds?? Regardless, I think "curb weight" as measured by the manufacturer generally includes fuel, so it's still a pretty solid reduction

Some manufacturers weigh their cars without any fluids and some full of fluids and fuel. I'm not sure what Infiniti does, but your math seems right and maybe I pulled out 20 lbs. of junk in the car??

You are missing my weight. I weight about 180.
