Arrogant Stock + Build
Arrogant Stock + Build
Starting this thread right now while my models are running at work, so I will not have pictures until tonight.
I have a Black G37X Sedan, which I will likely be selling in 18 months so I did not want to put too much into it, but still wanted to have fun. Because of the time frame to sell this car I wanted to create a stock + look that will be reasonably inexpensive, but still let me have fun.
I currently have the following modifications:
1. 15% tint all around
2. Midnight Black OEM Grill
3. Interior LED Lights by Diode Dynamics
4. GTR Push Button Installed
I have already ordered the following parts and they will be installed over the next two weeks.
1. Wires for Big 3 upgrade / grounding kit
2. VMS Fender 10MM bolt kit in black for the radiator bolts that are corroded
3. Second Skin dampening material for the entire trunk as well as rear deck.
My next modification after those are installed will be to install subs. I will be installing a custom slot ported box with 2 12" (still undecided on brand). There will be a false wall built covering up the subs so it looks factory, and the amp will be hidden somewhere out of site. All you will see are the subs.
After the subs are installed my next mods will be as follows:
1. 19" coupe wheels, square setup (possibly a light gunmetal powdercoating though not sure)
2. Fortune 500 Coilovers / camber kit/ spacers, etc.
3. Tanabe axleback exhaust with different tips (looking for tips that look exactly like Stillen's so if you know where I can find these let me know).
4. More upgrading of the engine bay, radiator cap, etc.
After that I might decide to add another amp, sound process, and upgrade the factory speakers. I will not be adding an intake, or other engine modifications as I want this to appear mostly stock.
I will post pics tonight.

Sounds like a good list to get started on! What state do you live in? Do you get trouble from cops with the 15% tint? Right now mine is at the legal 35% and you can barely tell it's been tinted.
I've had 15% all round tint on all my vehicles since I was 16. I live in AR but I've been pulled over in several different states over the past 17 years lol. Only had 1 cop even mention my tint....never a ticket tho. I say go ahead and press your luck.
Ok, actually going to update this even though there are no pics because my phone broke 2 days ago. Pics soon though. Since i started this thread I now have 2 13w3 JL installed on a 1000w JL amp. Custom with blue led in the trunk. It was not slot ported, and is sealed because I got the 13 instead of the 12", I regret that. I did the entire trunk in second skin dampening, and then upgraded the reverse lights to LED from Diode Dynamics.
Today I got the first of my coupe 19x9 in the mail. I overpaid, but whatever I got all refinished wheels from ebay. I overpaid to get the square, and a perfect finish which is what the first one has so far. My only hope is that the finish is the same on all, hopefully....
Next up are the tires, brakes, and suspension. I am not sure on tires yet, but they will be 255/40/19 all season ultra high performance, maybe the continentals. After that I am not sure what will be next, either the coilovers or the brakes. I figure I will go on and do the entire suspension and get the fortune 500's, and hotchkiss sways done at the same time. Heck, I might do the brakes at the same time too, which will be the akebonos with the hawk ceramic pads, stoptech slotted rotors.
Also, guess who got a ticket for the tint already? $180 bucks. I live off of a hot strip though (crackheads, prositutes, drug dealers, etc) and was driving down it at like 11pm going home when I got pulled over. I was given a ticket for too dark of tints. I didnt remove them though, I just don't drive down that strip unless I am going to a business on it. I figure it was the black car, black tints, on a hot block that did me in.

Thanks for the updates, how are you getting your wheels? Is it just one source and they're shipping them out as they get them done or are you piecing together a set and sending them to get painted? Hopefully they'll all be so close you won't be able to tell them apart, g/l with that and look forward to pics when you get them. BTW are you going to paint your calipers prior to install?

I am pieced them from 3 separate sources. They are all supposedly "hyper silver" so hopefully they are close enough I do not need a refinish. If I do, then so be it. I will probably just keep the akebono's stock. I want to keep this car looking like a stock infiniti as much as possible.
Oh yes, sport pedals, and illuminated sills will be coming before the summer.

Well, since I get phone tomorrow I will have the real pics, but the second one came in the mail today and it matches the first perfectly.
The last two come in the mail Monday. Any recommendations for ultra high performance all season tires under 200? If I can decide on some decent ones I will get the 19's thrown on next week.
Also, in revising my first post, I am not doing an exhaust now, nor am I going to do anymore stereo modifications. I did not mention in the first post either, but Akebono's are definitely coming. Any further mods other than the ones listed will have to do with lighting.

Just ordered my tires:
General Tire G-Max AS-03 - 245/40R19XL 98W - All Season Tire
I will probably get them put on next weekend. That depends on the Explorer's transmission being rebuilt before then so I can haul the wheels over.

Alright, pic time finally. Its been ****ty as hell here so yes car is dirty inside and out, but I call it the trifecta, rims, tints, system. I know it needs spacers and a drop and brakes, those are all coming soon. Aslo the tires are general gmax all seasons 245 40 19.

Well I have had the chance to use them in all kinds of weather now. I personally love them. They are great in snow, rain, or dry conditions. My only complaint Is that they seem loud, but I have never had tires this size before so maybe that is common. All around I love them.
