Ryan's '12 g37xS mod thread

Well I guess it is time to start my "build thread". So far most of my mods have been cosmetic, but I have some "performance" mods in the pipeline.

Current mods:
grill painted to match (malbec black)
Lamin-x headlight overlays
oem trunk spoiler
debadged except painted to match mt Fuji emblem
Lamin-x tail light overlays with gtr style cutouts
muffler delete with 2.25" straight pipes (up from 1.75") from the resonators.

Future mods:
Red/black carbon fiber interior trim overlay kit (ordered Thursday 10/2)
Both emblems painted a dark metallic red
Engine cover painted same red and malbec black combo
window trim painted black
R2C black nickel intake (ordered 10/5)
brake upgrade (ordered stop tech slotted rotors and pads 10/5)
Swift Springs
19" wheels (undecided on brand/style, but probably gunmetal)
Sway bars
HFC's or RFC's?? (not sure how those would match up with my muffler delete so undecided on this one.

I'll update this as I get mods accomplished, but have attached a couple of pics of how my car currently looks.

Looking good!, save a bundle and wrap your window trim, that's what Nissan did w/ the center door pillars so it'll match perfectly and if you DIY it's only about $20

If you have any questions about wheel specifics just shout

Thanks for the info (and on my brake thread as well)!

As far as the window trim I have a buddy that does paint work so he is doing the trim for me when he does the other stuff I'm wanting done so it won't cost me me much more than having it wrapped.

On the wheels I know I want to stay squared and be gunmetal, but other than that I'm still undecided. I'm leaning towards the Niche Targa's at the moment because I can get them off wheelfire.com with tires for around $1,400. Whatever I decide to do I promised my wife I would wait until tax time so things could change lol.

And by the way I ordered my r2c intake today so I should have it and my interior trim installed in a few weeks!

I have Niche Targa's. They are absolutely beautiful. They are heavier than stock, but I never had plans on building a racecar so I don't really care, lol. Here's a picture for your reference. Good luck with the build process!

I also just noticed you had MO plates. What part of MO are you from? I'm in the Saint Charles area.

I'm down in the Springfield area, but get up to the Lou a few times a year to catch cardinals and blues games.

For those that haven't seen this in the sedan section, here is my interior trim kit installed.

I also have my new brake kit, but not sure when I'll get it installed.

Nice. I got a Malbec Black 37xS too a few weeks ago. Thinking about some of the same options as you but with no garage and snow predicted in Boston this weekend I may be putting off some of my mods till the spring. I do want the to grab myself an oem trunk spoiler and maybe a midnight grill (or aftermarket) since I don't have a paint hookup like you do.

If I can convince one of my friends to clear enough of his kid's toys out of the way in his garage I may try to get an R2C intake put in this winter and maybe swap out the stock brake to the infinity big brakes.

Guess I will start with things I can stay warm doing, CARISMO radio dials and an LED swap on the interior.

I will be trying the vinyl wrap the blnewt posted also when it gets warmer.

Looks like I may be selling my motorcycle to support my new G mods...

Welcome aboard! I love my G, but the malbec black is a huge pain to keep clean! After next week I'll probably be done with mods until this spring as well. This is the first car that I've really done any mods on. I told my cousin (who is a huge Z enthusiast) before I got mine that I didn't plan on doing much to it.......That didn't last long lol.
