DPNx714's 2012 G37S 6MT Build Thread
Sup guys,
I bought my car about a year ago and I figured now is a good time to make one of these threads.
Here she is the day after I took her home:

My very first mod was going with some Nokya Hyper Yellow 2500K bulbs for the fog lights. I got used to the look of HID low beams + yellow fogs from my 2001 Lexus IS300 ..which is still my daily driver BTW.

The car was a CPO, and being black in color, had a lot of easily spotted "love marks" from the previous owner. After much research in the detailing section of this forum and reading guides on detailed image, I bought myself some detailing gear to attack some of the swirls!

The results after 8 hours of work... not bad for a noob detailer!

The next thing I did was lowered the car on some Tein Flex coilovers.

Installation in my garage:

Once lowered, I felt the car was ready for bolt ons:
HKS Hi Power Exhaust:

Install in my garage:

Next up, decided to add an intake and a new battery (battery in Lexus was about to die and used it as an excuse to toss something new in the G)

R2C Black Nickel Intakes:

I had a difficult time on deciding wheels but in the end I went with SSR SP3 because the design fit the car well IMO...sporty and luxury looking.

That super black coat!

I had to get some tint next but I didn't want it too dark. I decided on Formula 1 Pinnacle Series ceramic tint 35% all around.

Next up, I wanted a more aggressive look so I went with the IPL/Aero front bumper from Sewell. I knocked out two birds with one stone by adding an OEM Midnight grille while the bumper was off the car.
My roommate helping me out with the install.

I then decided to do a couple of minor changes to the interior besides the LED lights. I went with Carsmo ***** to replace the rubber HVAC/Radio *****. I went to 1cleanG for a Tommy Kaira Hebi Bebi shift **** ...something I actually wanted since day one of owning this car
Also bought a ProClip cell phone holder because I got tired of my phone flying everywhere when not in inside my pocket

I finally got around to getting the IPL/Aero side skirts..again from Sewell. This is how she currently sits as of today.

Future mods: I want SPL camber kits for front and rear once I start driving her daily. Also thinking about Cusco strut bar and some sway bars ...

Very nice job! You've really put a lot of work into your G and it shows.
BTW, what did you use the Camels for in your detailing, mix a little tobacco in the final polish for some extra "spark"? lol.

I'm glad I've been pretty careful to not add anything too noticeable since then but I will probably do a light polish again soon since it has been a year or so.
BTW, I've actually started vaping since then...trying to kick the habit

Small update to my build...
I ordered a Cusco front strut bar from forum vendor b2autodesigns. They got the FSB to my doorstep sooner than expected!
I was going to go with a rear diffuser or OEM spoiler next until I started looking into sway bars.
I ran across a local forum vendor ModBargains.com and found out they were having a big sale on Cusco parts for the G. After a few email exchanges with Frank from ModBargains, I drove the G to La Habra to meet Frank in person. Frank was really great to deal with and he gave me a tour of their facility. I'm really looking forward to see their performance shop completed. By the end of my visit to ModBargains, I walked out with the Cusco front power brace, front/rear sway bars, and rear bulk brace! I hope to do more business with them in the future.
All my cusco goodies:

Cusco Front Strut bar installed:

Cusco Rear Power Bulk installed:

I'm going to do the front power brace and both sway bars when I'm not too lazy to get under the car
This last Thursday I also took my G to her first G/Z meet in Bellflower, CA hosted by The Thirties
I got to meet some cool people and met a guy named Giovany (IG: giovani_films) who snapped this shot for me

Thanks, Henry!
Thanks! I searched for any information about the Cusco swaybars but I couldn't find anything at all. I was originally going to go with Hotchkis, since it seems to be the forum favorite, but I couldn't refuse the deal ModBargains had going for Cusco parts. Plus, I figured it will be cool having all my suspension components Cusco minus the Tein coilovers. Regardless, I'm sure they will be huge improvement over stock.
