That would be nice, but I guess that people would complain that it promotes drinking and driving.

I'm sure you're correct. I would be tempted to go with the street rod plate.

I'm not sure what the laws are (if any) regarding altering license plates like that, otherwise I probably would.

Haha. I'm not sure the G counts as a street rod and may be a little out of place.

Just another update. I'm not sure if I will be keeping my vinyl window trim because I am not happy with how it has "settled". I may take it back to the place I had it done and ask them what my options are because the edges are pretty shotty, and I asked them to do gloss black, and as Rochester pointed out previously, there is a little bit of a texture. I was told that it would just need some time to settle in and the texture would go away, but it hasn't.

Here's a closer picture.

You know, I'm thinking of making a list of all the things I want to specifically look at when we get all these cars together. One of them is vinyl wrap. (And rear roof spoilers, and different exhausts, exhaust tips, long-tube intakes, rear diffusers, cars lowered on springs or CO's, on and on...)

That doesn't look right, but I also can't orient myself to that photo and figure out what I'm looking at.

It's the passenger side where the chrome meets the B pillar for reference.

Maybe that's too much of a close-up shot. Let's look at it at the end-of-month and get more opinions.

The only window trim I wrapped was the belt-line. It was a whole lot easier than doing the entire trim, but still I had to do it like four or five times before I was satisfied. And even then, I wouldn't say 100% satisfied. Maybe 95%.

Modding is rarely if ever a perfect thing, man. There's always something that's not quite right. Always.

That's not right IMO, wonder what vinyl product they used ? I'd specifically ask for Scotchprint 1080 gloss black, if installed properly it will match the side pillars in tone, gloss, and texture, or more specific, lack of texture.

Thanks for confirming what I had been thinking. I'll try to take a little bit better picture with my DSLR instead of my phone for those who aren't going to the meet-up. I think I am going to take it back to the shop that did it and see if they'll swap it out for the right material. I'll ask for the Scotchprint 1080 like Brad suggested. If they want me to pay full price again then I'll probably pass and just have it removed (most likely after the meet-up though).

Like you mentioned, the texture on there seems just a little off. If they're local to Lexington and open we could swing by and show them mine on Thursday or Friday?

I've found two place here in Memphis that supposedly do good work but I haven't used them for anything yet. It's a bit far but if you're in the area...

Oh, it's that orange peel texture that's got you down. Now I understand.

The gloss black vinyl wrap on my belt-line trim has no discernible texture. It looks exactly like the B-Pillar.

Vinyl trim update: I went back and spoke with the owner of the shop and showed her the issues that I was having with the work done and the material used. I asked her if I bought the Scotchprint 1080 that Brad had suggested and her response was that the material they used was the best out there for what I wanted done and that they are unwilling to work with that product. She won't even try to fix the issues with the current product. She gave me two options. 1. Live with it or 2. Bring it in and they will take it off and give me a full refund. I choose option 2 and will have it removed next week.

Well at least you'll get a refund. If you have a couple free hours and about $25 give the DIY a shot.

Or maybe this weekend everyone will tell you it's fine, and you'll have a change of heart.

Could happen.

Doubtful. It's bubbling on one side and coming off on the other side. For whatever reason it doesn't seem to want to stay on the chrome.

At this point I'm not really worried about it. I like the look of the blacked out chrome trim but I was starting to get use to the regular chrome trim. Plus I wasn't wanting to go for the fully blacked out look either.

I'll be interested to see yours Rochester to see if it's something I may want to try.
