I'm going to do my best to convince you to do the swap. Any additional info about the tune?

Not yet, I've kind of dropped the ball on it. I've been working 1.5 hours of over time every night plus every other Saturday, so I've been a little worn out, plus to get it tuned I'd have to get up really early to have it done and go straight to work from there, so I'm trying to wait for overtime to die out a little. #firstworldproblems

OT is great while it lasts, don't blame you. I may need to grab a side gig to recoup some of what I just spent getting my kid down here.

I just signed a contract on a new house that I fell in love with and the monthly payments from the house, the bills, car, and what I would want to do to the G made it way too tight. To me a house is more important than a car at this point in my life. It definitely wasn't an easy decision to make, but I would rather have a house without a car payment.

Plus it will give me a little breathing room to start saving up for one of these...

I can respect that.

But... but... you surely can have both, right? Particularly since you already have the car.

Just stop pouring money into it for things like a $3500 exhaust, or $1000 DRL's.

I could have both, but it would put me so tight financially that I wouldn't be able to do anything other than work and come home. I wouldn't have the money to do things like drive out east for the meet up. Or go on vacation.

They will be staying on the car. It was about a 6 hour install at the dealership, and it's not worth it to me to attempt to try to take them off. Especially since they drilled holes in plastic inserts where the leds sit.

So are ya keeping the car with the house or no? Car looks great. Definitely agree that house > car.

Just went through this thread again and must say I'm a bit sad
You've done so much and especially in the end everything was really coming together so well. I know they're "just" parts on a car, but a lot of thought went in to the selection & coordination and unlike a lot of us, not many missteps

No, I'll be selling the G once I get the parts taken off. I'll probably drive the Crown Vic for a year before trading it in on a Tahoe or some sort of SUV with 4wd. I really don't want to have the CV as my only car, but since it's fully paid for it only makes sense to keep it until I get a good handle on what my monthly expenses will be for the house. I really would like to score a used Audi S7 in a couple of years, but who knows, maybe the Lexus GSF may enter the picture.

If I'm quite honest a lot of it was impulse buying, but I loved how about 90%of it turned out, and wish I could have done more, but it was getting to the point that I was modding to try to make myself happy with the car and keep interest, but it ended up turning into something that wasn't as enjoyable as I wanted it to be. It became more of a chore and I just wasn't enjoying it as much as I use to.

Yikes! That sounds like an eating disorder. Or compulsive shopping.

Kirk, if that's truly how you feel about it, then I applaud your ability to recognize something you want to change. Perhaps you're a good candidate for leasing a car that is otherwise outside your budget. A year or two after you settle into your house, lease a car that you won't mod, enjoy it for what it is, and put your energies into a more rewarding hobby.

Perhaps cars are still your thing, but classics that have a low entry point and are fun to mod. Like an old Miata, or a Camaro, or something off-road.

Anyway, it's tough leaving something behind that was important to you. And if you're doing it for the bigger picture, it's brave too. Good luck, buddy.
