Why is the the 240 tread wear a big turn off?

That means they won't last as long as a tire with over 300 threadwear rating. This is how TireRack explains it:

Treadwear Grades
UTQG Treadwear Grades are based on actual road use in which the test tire is run in a vehicle convoy along with standardized Course Monitoring Tires. The vehicle repeatedly runs a prescribed 400-mile test loop in West Texas for a total of 7,200 miles. The vehicle can have its alignment set, air pressure checked and tires rotated every 800 miles. The test tire's and the Monitoring Tire's wear are measured during and at the conclusion of the test. The tire manufacturers then assign a Treadwear Grade based on the observed wear rates. The Course Monitoring Tire is assigned a grade and the test tire receives a grade indicating its relative treadwear. A grade of 100 would indicate that the tire tread would last as long as the test tire, 200 would indicate the tread would last twice as long, 300 would indicate three times as long, etc.

Wheel/tires have been installed. I do have to say DiscountTire did a GREAT job. No impacts used, no tire mounting scratches, and took gentle care of the rims.

Pics coming soon (its hot as h3ll outside) and I want to test my mirrorless camera.

Here's a decent side view of the car as it sits now. For grins, I added a pair of my spare 20mm spacers to the front and it made it sit perfectly in line with the rear. Only issue is that on rare steep dips while driving, I scrub the fender by a hair.

Wow. Paint looks like mercury was poured over your car. Great photo, Nish.

I know you're not asking, but I'm not digging the red calipers now that I see them on the car. I suspected as much last month when you had them painted and ready to go. Then again, I'm wanting to paint mine and haven't yet, so it's kind of a hollow opinion.

Let's agree to disagree, just like with the F.I. CBE sedan tips, once you see it person, you start to love it. Actually my only gripe about the pic I took is that the AKEBONO lettering isn't clear. The calipers look orange/red up close but from far they are red as can be. I'll take another pic to show an up close view of it.

Hey Nish. Name is Reddi. Nice to meet you.

Love what you've done to the car so far. Especially that engine bay and the wheels with those lugs look sweeeet. Subscribing for more.

Sorry to necrobump... saw your car in the Fat Tire Sedan thread... any more pics? Particularly at like shoulder height, and of the wheel fitments?

Also how has tire wear been?
