A G named Giselle Build Thread

So i have been a g owner since Feb 13, 2013. Im 19 full time college student at UCF here in Orlando Florida. Originally wanted a g35 coupe but decided to save up and get the 37, insurance reasons made me get the sedan because the coupe was just too much but im loving it. Came from a 1994 automatic v6 camaro. Now i currently own a 2006 suzuki katana 600cc as my daily driver and a 2009 g37 sedan 6mt as the weekend car.

here is my old car

Here is my bike

and here was is the g when i first purchased it. Got it for 22,000 2009 g37s 6mt 62500 miles. Had to drive all the way to nc to find this one Manual was a must. Car came with TSW Donningons 19x8 in the front 19x 9 +40 offset all around wrapped in Hankook evo v12 245 35 19 and 235 45 19...the tire numbers might be wrong

https://www.myg37.com/forums/newthre...stthread&f=348

Then i decided to get 20% tint all around. Knew the owner of tint shop so it was only $100

top before bottom after

I was able to sell old camaro for 1600 and went and bought some bc coils and tanae axle back exhasut

Lowered car just enought to have flush tire fitment, about 2iNCHES ALL AROUND before

after

Was completley unhappy with tanabe axle backs, they are great quality and look goo but have no sound change from stock so i decided to delete my mid pipe resonators and got a nice tone

here is a vid of the sound

Next i tried to do some Diy, to paint my grille and head lights

never again headlights came out alright, grille looked ****ty

Decided to get grille professionally painted going to wait to to redo headlights becasue they were a pain in the ***

Here s what my G currently looks like

I feel as if i rushed my modding and therefore my next steps will be to go back through and perfect each of the mods ive already done before moving on. My alightnment put me at -2.5 all around and the type of stance im running a camber kit doesnt really help. So my next goal is to get some 2mm spacers up front to get the flush fitment.

here is my mod wish list

and to end here are my two fav pics of my car

So this is my first time postig and im open to any and all crticism good or bad. Lemme know what you think!

great first posts! car looks great, and you have a solid plan for it. i agree on the need for spacers up front. also, front lip is available from orderinfinitiparts.com for ~$275, so that will save a bit off your $350 estimate.

impressive to be able to save and afford this as a student. props for that.

FYI - i had to go as far as 4000 miles to source my 6MT sedan, from a Baltimore myg37.com forum member no less! had it shipped to me in Canada. back in 2010 the supply was very scarce. like you, 3 peddles were a must for me and i'm glad i didn't settle for an AT xS model which the dealers were trying to push on me.

In my book, that goes down as this forum's best first-post intro-thread ever.

Except for the whole naming-your-car thing, this is not your average 19 year old. Well done.

Looking great, and agree about the awesomeness of your "virgin-posting" nice work! Be sure to check out my window trim DIY in the DIY section, black window trim will really give it a nice look along w/ my GTR painted taillight DIY, I can hook you up w/ the cutouts to make it look factory straight
Got some great taste for a 19 yr. old, nice bike too!

Great first post! I like what you have going on and your future plans for modding! Just keep in mind that there is a lot of help here on the forum in DIY and the most important when DIY is to take your time and do it right the first time! Do a lot of research ask a lot of question. Just don't sale yourself or your ride short by rushing or not having enough knowledge in the work the you're attempting to do. All in all your ride and mods so far look good! Keep up the good work!

Got some pics of those powdercoated calipers?
Nice to see you've done your homework, obviously spent quality time researching the available mods for your ride, you're to be commended

Thanks man, Yeah these 6mt sedans are like needles in a hay stack. The surprise on all my friends face when they see me shift gears is worth it though lol.

Between the two, this one. I'd only go with the other one if it matches your pimp cane.

Look, ma! Wheel spacers.

I have to agree that this is one of the best "intro" threads!
The "Giselle" is looking' sweet.

Definitely consider blacking out the window trim as blnewt has suggested.

As for the calipers...I think the brighter purple matches the interior lighting more.

Welcome. Nice car. I say keep the calibers silver and upgrade wheels.
