Caliper color, on the fence

Black sport coupe, so has the stock silver calipers. Need some color, car is black, black, black. Have been planning to paint the calipers to give it a little color. I like yellow and black so had planned on yellow calipers with black Akebono decals. Then saw some red calipers with white Akebono decals. Had to have a smoke afterwards (: Still like yellow so torn between the two. Thought I would get opinions. Car does have the Z1 slotted 2 piece rotors. Thanks greatly for any input.

I'm not a fan of yellow as a color (and on calipers it reminds me of a child's toy), but I think most would pick yellow.

I like the metallic gold or burnt copper colors as noted in the thread here as both have an OEMish look: https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...socketz67.html

You can buy aftermarket calipers in the standard red, so I would try to select a different red if that's the path you take.

Candy Apple looks nice:

White could be interesting, but it may contrast too much and throw off a storm trooper look.

Keyword: opinions. Ultimately it is your call. How much do you want the caliper/ color to "pop?" Yellow will draw the eye immediately to the caliper. Red, not so much but will still contrast nicely against the black. Remember, too, the brighter the color the more maintenance to keep them clean from brake dust.

I am +1 for burnt orange.. then again, I am biased as I drive a orange car, so.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yellow and white would be difficult to keep clean, on a black car that is also difficult to keep clean, you’d have your work cut out.

I think that I am feeling a yellowish gold with black.

FWIW, mine are orange. But I have a white car.

I don't think there's any wrong answer. (Except white, don't do white, LOL)

Here's a tip... select a bunch of colors and have Prismatic Powders send you the swatches so you can see the colors in person before committing. That's assuming you're powder-coating.

This is the thread I worked with a couple of years ago: https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...r-project.html

Thanks so much for the help. I believe I’ll take Rochester’s suggestion and get some color samples. I think I’ll also wait a bit, perhaps Spring 2026 will actually be here some day, there will be more hobby cars out and I can look for actual different color calipers on cars to see how they look. I don’t think I’ll have a big issue with brake dust. I’m retired, I can clean my calipers when I’m polishing my exhaust tips. Thanks!

I kind of feel the same way. Not retired "yet" (third year of a downturn in my industry has me considering early retirement), but I'm ok cleaning the calipers as needed, especially since I have a spare car to drive 1/2 the time.

Take your time with the color selection as the journey is better than the destination when it comes to something like this...

That means you will be disassembling the calipers and rebuilding them. Its certainly the more difficult approach, but worth the effort IMO.

Less than 3 years away from retirement myself. Tick tock.

Yeah should be fun. Don’t have to worry much about screwing something up, not much else involved

If you have prepared and stayed in good health, retirement is pretty sweet. Sort of, kinda, leaning towards some shade of red with white lettering. But not definite

The blue with the white lettering is pretty sharp, on the list. Thanks

Bronze is classy and won't tie you down to have to color match every other accessory going forward.
(Unless you like that Miami rice vibe)
Likewise, i find branding distasteful. Skip the lettering
