Need help choosing wheels for winter setup

I will be buying dedicated winter tires/wheels. Are there any 17s that fit over the sport brakes? I plan on getting sport brakes further down the line.

I suggest buying a set of the OEM 17 X 8.0" alloy wheels. They fit over the Akebono front monoblock calipers, but other "sport" brakes may not.

Agree that this is the path most take to avoid fitment questions and the need to add spacers

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but the only 17" wheels from the G37 family were on the non-Sport Sedan. Those were 17x7.5, and they don't clear the Akebono front calipers.

Also, the Akebono calipers aren't monoblock, they're 2-piece.

^^^ This is correct. 17" won't fit over the G37 sport brakes.

For winter I use 18 x 8, with a 225-50-18 X-ice... works fantastic!

Note that I made a mistake here. For some reason I thought this referenced the sport 18s (Duckfeet). As others noted, the 17” journey wheels will not clear the Akebono 4 and 2 piston calipers.

Duckfeet are the path most take for winter wheels if they are running the Akebono sport brakes.

And I stand corrected as well: I meant to refer to the 18" OEM alloys as well. The duckfeet rims fit just fine over the Akebono monoblock calipers. BTW- monoblock calipers are a racing innovation that allows brake pads to be replaced from the top during a pit stop, In production trim, a monoblock caliper is built from two sections bolted together and has a much higher heat sink capacity than a sliding caliper.

A two-piece caliper is not a monoblock.

Also, your measurements on the Sport Sedan wheels are off. They were 18x7.5, except for the staggered rears on the RWD Sport package, which were 18x8.5.
